Hello Everyone,

I have completed my B.Tech (Computer Science - NAAC 'A' Grade, NBA Accredited) in 2019 with 8.44 CGPA (4 backlogs, passed in 1st attempt), IELTS - 7.0 (L-8.5, R-6.5, W-6.5, S-6.0) and 1 Publication paper, No work experience.

I have applied for Universities in Fall - 2019 for:
- UBC ( Computer Science - MSC)
- Dalhousie (MSC)
- Concordia (Applied Computer Science -Master's)
- Manitoba (computer science)

All my applications were rejected unfortunately.
I applied again for Winter 2020 to the following Universities:
UWindsor (MAC - Application deferred to FALL 2020)
Ontario Tech University (Master's in Information Technology Security - Rejected)
Concordia University (Information and Systems Security MENG - Rejected)

REJECTED! AGAIN!! I feel heartbroken because of being rejected multiple times, even though I have a good profile (not the best though). I feel like quitting this impossible and unachievable dream of Master's in Canada.

Is my profile good or is Canada getting tougher? I know people with lower profile than mine get admissions with no work experience. I don't blame anyone though, why is it harder? What should I do now? Do you think I'll make it at least the next term? I'm close to giving up. Need suggestions! Thanks for your time.

I would say, this is because of 4 backlogs and no work experience. Do you plan to just come to canada to do MS/MEng only? You can come to Canada, and study in Colleges (Seneca, Lambton, Centennial, Humber) and do post graduate certification course. It's easy to get in and easy work permit process.
Or do you just want to study in university, then keep applying and good luck to you :)

Thanks bro. Do you know anyone who made it to university with 4 or more backlogs. I just want to study Master's in University and don't want to stay there forever. I don't know if I'm gonna make it the next term.

Sorry, I have no idea. I would say, prepare for GRE and then apply for universities. And try Windsor university, or university in Nova Scotia side. There is huge competition to get in universities in Canada AFAIK.

Hi, is work permit easier to get if you graduated from a college than if you did a masters?

That’s strange! I applied on June 18th and my application also got deferred for fall intake and unfortunately I too have 4 backlogs but haven’t heard from Windsor since I got the mail about considering my application for next term on Wednesday.

I got rejection from Carleton (MCs), Dalhousie (MCs), Guelph (MCs) and Windsor (MCs). Waiting for the decision for MAC program (Windsor).

I would suggest you to apply to Dalhousie University again in Applied Computing program. They will held an interview and on basis of that they give decision (like it also depends on your profile but they do give priority to interview).

Just give it a try. One of the guy got rejection from 9 universities (including Dalhousie MSc program) but he got admit in MAC in Dalhousie.

I can completely understand what you are going through. I am also on the same page. I can’t give you motivation but have searched this solution.

Yeah. Looks like Windsor University has deferred applications submitted after June to fall 2020. Thank you very much for the information. I'll try to apply again for fall 2020 early this time. Another factor i noticed is about how early we apply to universities for the next term which decides the availability of seats.

Hello Everyone,

I completed my B.Tech in Computer Science in 2019 with 8.48 CGPA and have no work experience. My IELTS - 7.0 (L-8.5, R-6.5, W-6.5, S-6.0).

I have applied for University of Manitoba (Masters in CS) & York university (Masters in CS) for Fall 2020 and actively looking for some safe universities which still has deadlines. Could you please let me know few safe universities that have deadlines and still have a chance of getting admission into it?

Even though, I would like to do Masters in Universities I feel like getting the admission in Universities tough with short turnaround deadlines for Fall 2020.That said, I am also planning to apply for colleges and not sure which to choose from below list:

George Brown,Seneca College,Sheridan College,Centennial Collège,Humber College,Fanshawe College,Conestoga College,Lambton College,BCIT,Durham College

Furthermore, I need help in choosing the course from these three (Graduate certificate, PG diploma, Post secondary). I did some research by going through college websites and found few 1 year courses but I am not sure I will be eligible for three years work permit if my course duration is less than 2 years. I want to maximize my chances of getting a 3 yrs permit. To sum this up, I would prefer to get into University or college and choose a course that wouldn't be problematic when I apply for PR.

I would be greatly thankful if you can share your suggestions. Thank you!
