Hello friends,

Please share the issuing DD/MM/YY to expiry on DD/MM/YY of your Immigrant visa after getting your passport stamping from CPP-Ottawa.

That can help other applicants to plan their landing for themselves and their family.

Does it normally depend on your medical dates or what????

Please share and thank you in advance for your valuable time!!

Good luck!!

Hi Tarun,

Yes, the validity of the PR visa depends on the expiry of medical result. I had
very toughest deadline that I have ever heard. Fyi, my timeline was:

Decision made: April 19, 2012
Passport received in hand via Abu Dhabi Can Highcommission: Apr 30, 2012
Visa & Medical Expiry date: May 02, 2012
Landed in Toronto: May 01, 2012.

If I could not reach in Toronto by May 02, 2012, probabably my case could be cancelled.

Best wishes & luck,

Sayek (Toronto, ON)

The validity of your the CoPR is usually 12 months from the time you got the medicals done. So, in case you do
upfront medicals, this shortens the timeframe you have between the finalization of your application and the date
you have to complete the landing.

Woooohh...that was soo freakinn tight for you Sayek.....just glad that you made it otherwise god knows!!..

@ iam_toby yes I i kinda figured that it does depend on our medicals!! my upfront medical was done on march 18, 2013 and my passport received by Cpp-Ottawa on Dec 5,2013!! hope everything goes fine...because there was no date on my family's photos!! hope i get a nice VO!!

What if spouse completed upfront medical? And pa completed medicals later (after medical instructions from cic) ?

I'm guessing both pa and spouse will have expiry date of spouse's medical + 1 year.

Am I correct ?

I don't think so.. Each COPR is a separate document. The only link is that the principal applicant must land first or at the same time as the other applicants.

Thanks.

Either ways, earliest expiry date will be August 28th 2014. If we get visa in next couple of weeks (passports reached Ottawa on 5th December), we'll land asap.
