Hi, can anyone who has recently landed at Toronto Pearson Intl airport share their experience?

I plan to travel in May this year to complete my landing formalities and wanted to check how long the whole landing experience/process will take. The reason I ask is I plan to rent a car on arrival and am wondering how much time I should leave between flight arrival time and the actual rent a car pick up time . From my previous experiences around the world, i generally have a gap of around 2 hours but as this immigration experience will be different, i wasnt sure. i don't want to be still in immigration and let the booking time pass by and in the end not have a car to pick up.

Any advice, help, information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Make it 3 hours, better to have time to spare than to miss out entirely.

do you think it helps to have any forms etc. completed and printed out before landing? e.g. customs declarations, or goods declarations etc.?

any posts where this has been discussed?

Hi Pipis,

just want to clarify one thing.... for good to bring and goods to follow we would use same form BSF186/BSF186a or are there separate forms for each purpose ????

Regards

landed 2 months back at pearson..you will need the customs form and cash over 10k declared (30 mins)..then you go to apply for pr after immigration (30 mins), then better to get SIN as well at service ontario (30 mins), after i collected my bag, there is another stop at customs where they count your money and ask few questions..they dont check bags (30 mins)..so it will take minimum of 2-3 hours..

awsome - thank you :)

Does the immigration officer require to take id photos at the airport or we can give them the passport photos we have handy? If the latter is the photo size 5x7cm or 3.5x4.5cm? Thanks.
