i have filled for trv and looking at past post trends any file that takes too long is just usually a refusal :/

Well, it could be due to application load and resourcing issue, not necessarily a high chance of refusal. I have seen people getting refusal withing 2-3 days as well and people getting TRV after regular processing times as well.

congrats on approval!

i got Correspondence letter on 2nd aug (yesterday) but no update on result .. this gap between the result & Correspondence letter is looking murky to me :/

even though the letter said :

"Thank you for providing your biometric information (i.e. digital fingerprints and photograph) in support of your temporary resident application to Canada. The purpose of this letter is to notify you that your biometric information is valid until (yyyy/mm/dd) for subsequent temporary resident applications to Canada."

but still my biomatrics status has not updated ...it still says

• We do not need your fingerprints. We will send you a message if this changes.
