In fact, after reading likeadog's timeline again I realize how quick they moved for them ... So yes, congrats! It's superfast to get the passport request so soon. I've been waiting for longer and they're not even acknowledging the receipt of our application in Bucharest, let alone processing it. :o(

Their ways are certainly mysterious which is why I requested our CAIPS notes. It's kind of ridiculous that you've been waiting for so long, I.N. I would totally lose it if we were approaching 1 year of waiting.

Hey I.N,

Did you or your sponsor write to the embassy? I'm thinking of writing to them again but I wonder who's the better person to contact them, the PR applicant or the sponsor.

Ciao,

Torro

Hey Torro,

Our application arrived in Bucharest qiute late, midlle of January.... :o, for sure CIC it's a mystery; like I said before, our file was sent from Mississagua to Ottawa first and after that to Bucharest for the reasons that I don't really understand (I stoped asking myself why) I know I have to count six months from the day when my husbund was approved as a sponsor, 8th November, and when we applied last year in July it was a poste office strike in Canada and that delayed our file up to almost three months.... :-\

I am still in the time frame, but it's seems so long.... :-\.

It's a good idea CAIPS notes but I think you are in the time frame as well, so I am quite sure that nothing is wrong with your wife's application.

But for your peace of mind I suggest for your wife to make an enquire to Bucharest, who knows, she might have an answer.

Best of luck!

And yes,me the applicant, I've been writing to the Embassy and they replied very fast.

But still nothing on ecas like "in the process..." still empty on the application recieved status.... :-\.

I will not count on ecas uptates, I've heared here on the forum that you cannot always rely on it.

I.N.

My wife sent her PASSPORT and TWO PHOTOS, but she forgot to include the LETTER that she received with the instructions to send the PASSPORT. Is this a big deal ? Anyone knows ?

No it's not, don't worry

Can you provide me with a location in Bucharest that takes immigration photos as required by CIC? I am having trouble finding a place.

Hello,

I am sorry I cannot give you this information becouse I do not live in Bucharest, I am from up north of Romania.

But I think any photo shop could make you these photos, passport size or normal size photos...as required.

Good luck!

Charlize, I.N is right, as long as you take with you the instructions from CIC, any photo studio will do them... Just make sure you're satisfied with the results before you pay ;D

Hi everyone,
I am new on this site i was reading it for the last days and now i decide to join you.
I am in vancouver and i am sponsoring my husband from romania and
Mississauga received the file on 16 dec 2011
decision made on 8 feb 2012
file sent to bucharest VO but we do not have any confirmation about that or any other news since then from nowhere. So i don,t know were is the file now and what is happening. I did sent an email to Bucharest VO but no answer so far.
So, in your opinion can anybody tell me how long is going to take until i will have same news any news from them. I do not have a registration number or a UCI for my husband file to be able to check it on line.

Thank you

No news it means good news :)

No worries everything it's fine with your file, you have to count 6 months from the time you were approved as a sponsor.

Good luck and tones of patience :) ;).

Also Danap it's going to take a while until you will have an update on ecas or an email from them.

They don't really send an AOR by mail they will send you an email when the processing of your file will be almost completed, at least is what happened in my case and other cases I watched on this form.

If you count 6 months from the day when you were approved as a sponsor you should have some news end of May or June and visa issued for your husband July or August but could be earlier also as it was for others on this forum or later as it is for me.....look at my time line, I am beating a record here.... :-\ :-\,

The process will have and end very soon and then you will forget about this stress and anxity which came along during of this process.

Good luck :)

Oh forgot to add, you may not have an email from VO, your husband will, he is the applicant, at least is what happened in my case, I am the applicant, I received the confirmation email from my VO.

Hi I.N
Thank you for the info....as i see your time line is scary ..but as you said anything can happen Canadian embassy works in mysterious ways. We have a lawyer taking care of everything (same one that did my immigration paper work and he is great) so mailing address is his office. For us the good part was that my husband was here with me until last week so for most of the processing we have been together so now he is back in Romania but i hope he will come soon,,......we all do.....this is all we want ...to be with our family. Hope for all of us this processing time to fly faster.
What about you? when you think that you will have the good news?
If you come to Vancouver let me know.
Take care.
