My spouse would be accompanying me on his visitor visa. I know that he can apply for his OWP only once my classes will start.
Please let me know how much will be processing time for OWP application filed from inside canada through online .

Need to take up a decision accordingly so appreciate any reply.

Thanks in advance.

It took about 45 days for my spouse.

Our chances of getting both SP and OWP from my parent country is not that good because she has 4 years gap in study. Fortunately we all have Canadian visitor visas. So I can travel with her during her start of the study and after 15 days I want to apply for OWP from Canada itself. Let me know if this cannot be done.

Timelines for OWP from inside canada with online application is worrying me. How much time it usually takes.

like someone said before it takes roughly 45-50 days. ur spouse will get a visitors permit first at POE for 6 month duration or if u produce marriage cert and other documents like study permit etc then up till ur study permit. Once in canada u can apply for OWP online and it will take as mentioned above 45-50 days roughly.

Anybody ??
I have another query : Is it possible to get it done in the home country, then go to Canada on visitor visa alongwith with student spouse and then while applying for spousal OWP from inside canada, use this medical result.

It is possible. Usually after 60 days in Canada.

You see there is a problem: applying for visitor visa and then at POE your wife will have to say that she is visiting, that her intend IS NOT to work (neither to study) and then when she is in Canada she just turns around and apply for OWP the next day? At VO and POE they asked her about her INTENT!!! So yesterday her intent was not to work and today she changes her mind to the opposite? That speed :) makes CIC believe that she was not honest and they will punish her by rejecting her WP.

BUT for some mysterious reason immigration considers that if a person lived in the country for couple of months (60 days) the he/she has some time to look around, to think, and then change his/her mind from not intending to work to wishing to work, an apply for PW.

So, as you can see it does not matter when to apply for OPW- at VO or in Canada. It takes time anyway.

I guess that should not be a problem. I myself came on Visitor Visa in 2012 and at POE informed that I will accompany my spouse. Next day I applied for my OWP and received it in 2 months.

But, I would suggest that you apply from outside as the processing times for SOWP is nearly 1 month. And yes you can do the medicals within Canada if you apply SOWP from inside.

if ur spouse has visitors visa then medical if required will be done during this visitors visa application and u wouldnt need a medical for OWP.

Thanks to God.

But, even my lawyer suggested me the same and I followed and got my SOWP from inside.
