Please READ - SPOUSE coming with IM-1 visa before my landing

Hello and thanks for reading, I hope you can advise.

Me and my spouse received CoPR and IM-1 visa in our passports. I am in Canada, but only got my passport today because I was travelling for work. I just requested an appointment at local IRCC centre. My husband is in another country and already booked a ticket for this Saturday. It says in the CoPR that he cannot land before me. Can he still just come with IM-1 and stay here until we get our landing appointment? He doesn't have to land right away at the airport, does he?

If you are the primary applicant, your spouse can not land before you. He will have to come with you or land after you have arrived and received your SIN. Landing formalities are commenced immediately you get off the plane in Canada.
