I have been accepted onto the Personal Support worker course that lasts just under six months. I have applied to London for my study permit. My question is: can I be in canada as a visitor and have someone send my aprovel letter, then go into the USA for a weekend and get my study permit when entering back into Canada. I know the final desicion is up to the immigration officer as to whether i get the permit so i dont want to be doing something that will annoy him.
Is this an okay way to do it or would I be just asking for trouble?
Thanks

Hello,

I understand that if the course your going to study last for 6 months or less you do not need a student visa... at least that's how it works here in the Canadian Embassy at Mexico.... if the course last longer than 6 months, then we do need a student visa.... I just applied for one, I'm just waiting for my medical forms..

Yes, if they issue the study permit. Only problem would be if you require a medical for the course, ie that it has a practical portion dealing with patients/children. Although as the course is for less than 6 months they may not issue a study permit.

I have to have a paper signed by my docter showing that my immunizations etc are up to date. Is this what you mean, the medical i need to give to my college or are you saying I might need a medical to actually get my study permit. Confused'er :eek:/
