Hello Friends, I am in a very depressed and confused right now. Please read my story and provide some help.
I applied for a visitor visa in March 1st week and was then asked by the embassy to attend medicals which I did and submitted the same. Then I received one more letter in April for medical furtherance and some additional documents. I completed sputum test and submitted the result after 2 months i.e last week. I submitted my passport as well 2 days after the medical furtherance reports were submitted to the embassy. To my surprise, I received one more letter from the embassy with the same medical furtherance instructions except that the latter was dates in June. Is this a mistake by the embassy or what is this all about…pls help me to understand the situation…

From reading your other thread, couldn't this be related to the instructions that there must be a followup with a three month minimum between tests? The DMP is the best source to answer your questions now. Good Luck.

I think you should just call the DMP and deal with it head on and relax. What I was talking about this following post you made:
CIC website says that" a minimum of two chest films, taken at a minimum interval of three months, have a stable appearance". DMP took a chest x-ray in March as part of initial medicals and again one more x-ray in April as part of additional medicals just before sputum test. Now I am getting the sputum test result in a week's time. Will the DMP ask me for one more chest x-ray now or a month later? I am confused. Please help.

Sure Pippin, I will be meeting the DMP today. The reason why I was confused is because the letter was dated June 15 which was the period while I was waiting for my medical report to be generated. I could not find a reason why they would send me another letter while I am already following the instructions given by CIC in their first letter.

the DMP opened the envelope and it said that the embassy is waiting for the medical reports. So the DMP said that there is nothing to worry as they have already sent the reports and the letter is kind of a reminder from the embassy. I am very relaxed now and just waiting for the visa now

You know what? Your post brought the biggest smile to my face just now. Wonderful news. Impossible not to worry when it is happening to you, but all the worrying didn't solve anything. Taking action DID! Well done. Am watching for your successful outcome now. Happy Canada Day.

unfortunately I got the passport back asking me for another x-ray taken after now. So went to the DMP and took the x-ray and submitted again. Waiting for the passport since 2 weeks. Is it mandatory that 2 x-rays have to be submitted, one of them before the sputum test and the other one 3 months from the 1st one? Please advise and help.

1. Yes. After the sputum test, then a second x-ray has to be taken.

Hi PMM, it has been 2 weeks since we sent the X-ray. do you think the visa will be issued if everything is fine? since, I know the sputum is negative and the x-rays show a small scar...:(

If you do a google search "cic medical surveillance" you will find lots of links. Here is just one.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/newcomers/after-health-surveillance.asp
Medical surveillance
During the medical examination you had before becoming a Canadian resident, you may have been told that you needed another medical examination once you got to Canada. This is known as medical surveillance for people who have an infectious disease that is not active.

If you are one of these people, you must report, by telephone, to the public health authority of the province or territory where you live within 30 days of entering Canada. You will find this number in the blue pages of your telephone book. This is very important for your health and to protect the health of your fellow Canadians.

CONGRATULATIONS on getting the visa!!! Great news.
