Please, need help dad very sick.

I really need some help and the canadian consulate does not want to help and either the UK one as well.

I broke into a house when I was 18, and now 34, I spent 6 months in jail (no violence, drugs ect), but then was deported as I only had my dad and sister in canada and they felt the crime warranted my deportation, still dont know why as live all my life in canada.

We lived in canada since 1979 until I was 19. We stayed as permanent residents but not canadian citizens. My sister is now a canadian citizen with kids and a house.

I have been in the UK for 12 years since my deportation, I now have kids and a mortgage and a job living a good life no criminal activity since I was 18

I now have been told my dad has cancer, and I need to go back urgently, but no one wants to talk to me, including solicitors as they want money that I dont have, as I need to buy a plane ticket which is £500.00 and renew my British passport wich is £130.00.

What do I need to do to go to canada for 10 days, I will be buying a return ticket as I have a life in the UK.

I just want to see my dad thats all. I need help please.

I couldn't imagine if you broke into my house with young kids and wife alone. You deserve everything what you have done in Canada.

Hi I have a valid british passport and my sister lives there, so have a place to stay and money and a return ticket for 10 days

Also I did not break into someone's house that had family, nor was he home, he promised to pay me for work, then told me to hit the road after I had done the work and never paid me, so I broke into his house and took the money after he went to work as I still had his key, I know it was dumb, but that was something stupid I did a lifetime ago, and there is no excuse, but whats done is done, I am not a bad person, just made one bad mistake.

Not sure in my sentence were you got that I broke into someone's house that a woman and kids were there, I would never do that.

Anyhow, your best bet is to contact the Canadian visa office in the UK and explain your situation, they will then determine if you need to apply for a visitor visa, where they will determine if you are inadmissible to Canada or not on the basis of your conviction, or they may tell you that you can travel without having to obtain a visa and determination on your admissibility will be made at port of entry in Canada.

Hi and thanks again.

I have tried calling and going to the consulate, and they did not want to help or tell me what to do.

I cant go back to london again, only to stand in line for hours only to be told to say speak to a solicitor.

I have tried calling, but you just get an automated tone saying press 1 then 4 then 3 then 6 only to be reffered back to their website.

I have tried emailing my situation, and had no reply.

I am lost, I just need to speak to someone in the know, that can say 100% you need this, or you dont need anything.

Its been like 14 - 15 years, I know have a wife and kids and a long time job, I am no threat. some pages say, I dont need anything after 10 years, and when I was deported the guy who put me on the plane, he said he felt for me, and told me to just come back after 10 years, but that was 14 years ago, and things may have changed.

I talk to solicitors, and straightaway they want £50.00 just to tell me what I need to do.

I cant believe you cannot speak to anyone at the consulate in the UK, Not 1 person.

Send a PM to one of the seniors like rjessome, Qorax, leon, scylla, mitali, BCGuy and see if one of them has some suggestions. I don't know the resources available in England, but do you have Legal Aid that can be accessed by people with low income? The other thought is, and I don't know how short of cash you are, just TALK to the lawyer (making sure they are reputable) even if it does cost you 50 pounds. In the scheme of life, when you have the reason for the trip in mind, is not that expensive. You may waste too much time waiting on forum for answers that you can get quickly for a fee. Please let us know how you get on.

You may already have looked into TRP (temp resident PERMIT) which is different from TRV.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/inadmissibility/permits.asp The TRP costs $200, considerably more than the TRV. Perhaps the line below will help answer your question and it is best to proceed to apply for a TRV and see what happens??

A decision on your admissibility can only be made when you apply to come to Canada or at a port of entry.

The deportation order requires ARC not a TRP and evidence of a pardon having been granted by Canada would also be necessary.

The crime committed and for which you were convicted is one that could have resulted in a life sentence if it was break and enter of a dwelling place regardless of persons in it or not.

The applications needed for firstly the pardon needed to support the ARC and then the ARC are lengthy and should not be counted on to be completed in likely less than a year at the very minimum.
