Please i need your help guys!!

I'm currently working and my post graduate work permit expires mid next month.I decided to apply for school again which i got accepted into a 4 year program and now i'm applying for the study permit.My question is,can i get to work on a study permit?do i qualify for an open work permit because i would like to keep working for this company until i can come up with the funds to pay for school.Anyway i hope someone can help me out on what i can do and what options i can take...Thank you in advance.

Once you have a study permit you can legally work for 20 hours a week.

Are you qualified for EE and submitted your application yet?

If you are, then just apply for a college and a study permit, then wait for PR. If you wanna work during this time, you can work 20h max per week under specific criteria

If you are not, then you are going to need a brand new work permit under skill worker.

You're posting in the Express Entry section of the forum - so at what stage of immigration are you right now?
You could be eligible for the BOWP if you've submitted your application already, if I'm not mistaken.

Hey guys thanks for the replies.So at this stage i've got 1 year experience in noc B and the only down side to this is after writing the ielts i got 7.5 and my csr score only comes up to 443.So i'm basically screwed.I will keep writing till i get better results but that's money being spent and time running out.So hence the reason I'm applying for a study permit.I don't know if 20hrs will cut it with the bills but I'm wondering how i can get a work permit under skilled worker just to buy time so i can work and keep trying with the express entry.

Please note that the work experience gained while on study permit in Canada will not be considered for claiming points under Express Entry. You can claim points for the work experience gained under PGWP.

@Stanlee I understand that much,thanks.My experience has been gained under PGWP.I'm just trying to find a way to extend my stay while being able to work and pay my bills because i can keep trying for the EE as i work.

I don't know will this be of some help but still for information sake:

During Newcomers Canada Fair in Edmonton CIC officials announced that in next couples of month the draws will be smaller in numbers and higher in score, but starting from September or later the round will count around 2000+ ITA's with the score likely to decrease.+

So does this mean even if my PGWP expires i can get to apply under EE As long as i've achieved the Canadian one year work experience?Would it matter if supposing i returned back home and i manage to get my ielts score high,would they still consider my application since i gained experience during my pgwp?

Your employer must apply for an LMIA to get a temporary work permit. Unfortunately, you don't have any "rights" to continue working beyond the PGWP expiry.

Alternatively, depending on your country of citizenship, you could see if there's an IEC program for which you are eligible...

@Jes thanks.Unfortunately my company won't get me the LMIAand i don't think my country has those kind of ties with Canada.Thank you for the info though.
