please, how long it takes the file number to get?

hello every body, since 18- march 2009 we have been sent the application from Canada, till now we did not recieve the file number yet, please ... do you know usually how long it takes to got the file number ? also ,do you know any office number or email that I have to contact ?

Hey,
You are doing inland or outland? did you get the first stage approved, witch is the the sponsorship part approved? if yes and your file has been transfered to local office for processing, you should get an AOR containing your file number

If you are trying to access ecas to check your status you can also use the sponsor's name and receipt number before you get your AOR with case number.

Did you not receive a letter of approval for sponsorship from Mississauga yet? In the letter it will have your Client ID and you can logon with that and your details in ecas to see the status. What visa office are you sponsoring out of? Some visa offices dont send Acknowledgement of Receipt.

Call the CIC call centre www.cic.gc.ca and make an inquiry

I tried to call them many times, but it does not work ! that is why I am asking about email address or fax number .

we tried to call and send a fax to the embassy but NO reply !
I am looking for any office or center will reply by sure.

that's unusual. they work on the applications sent after 17th of June now. 1st stage of your application was supposed to be done long time ago.

Call this you might be on hold but they do answer. Give them your information and they will be able to tell you whats the status of your application. You don't call mississauga directly.

To ring from outside Canada: +1 613 944 4000. They will ask you for your Client ID number, which, when I rang, I also did not have so I made up a number and punched it into the phone, I was then transferred to an agent. Be patient, I have waited on hold for 20-30minutes before.

thank you for your help, I called them, she told me I can wait till septmber,It can takes about 6 month, but I am worry about something ,when I gave her my husband's birthday - his name ,she did not find anything about the application,so she said that I can also find out by asking the mail office where we sent the application.
