Good Morning Guys,

My Ecase got an update which says:

1. We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on November 9, 2017.
2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on December 19, 2017.
3. We started processing your application on January 18, 2018.
4. We sent you correspondence on February 7, 2018. If you have not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until you receive the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required.

Is it a Finger Print Request? and is it a normal procedure or something which I should worry?

Most likely yes it is FP request. It seems to be happening g more frequently lately....
I know it is but try not to worry. All the best!

Let us assume it is a FP request. Could you please let me know how it will effect my Application? I read somewhere in this Forum that in fact FP request before the Test is better than FP request after the Test and Interview.

Before test is better because the your end of FP processing is happening is parallel. After test, it will be sequential so more delay. Ultimate impact is only timeline.

Thanks for engaging. The time you spend on engagin with trolls, if only you spend on better titles, you will not only get better responses, but you also dont have to deal with trolls...

Most likely it will only effect your timeline a little. Some applicants have reported around 4 weeks additional processing time which doesn't seem to be too bad.

Mine is a family application. My spouse has the same update on her Ecas dated 9th of February. Mine and my kid do not have the update.
