You can't get BOWP as your current WP has already expired. To get CWP, you will need LMIA, which could take forever.
I was in similar situation with you about a year ago. Applied for CEC in October 2013 & AOR received in mid Nov 2013. LMIA took forever then work permit got refused soon after. Applied restoration of status for work permit, then got refused in mid Feb 2014. And then, I went back to my country late Feb 2014, for slightly more than a month to restore my status as visitor (the process took few days only to get approval). The visitor status expired in 6-9 months i think.
Then I came back here in early April 2014 got MR immediately within 2 weeks. Got ready for Visa in May 2014 then came back home to my country for another errand, came back in July 2014 to land as a PR. I answered all questions honestly during the landing, and it took me only 5 minutes before I got my status. It was very smooth indeed!
Maybe you can do the same thing as I did: go back to your country and take a break first, maybe meet your old friends and spend time with your close family. Restoring your status as a visitor should be much easier in your country, as you have taken concrete actions to show that you respect the immigration rules and not overextending your stay here in Canada. Good luck with your application...
