Hello Everybody,

I am in a difficult situation here, and need some expertise advice.

I have applied for my PR few weeks ago, my Ecas status is 'application received', and due to bad work environment I have decided to quit my job.
Today I send out my 2 weeks notice, which made my boss freaked out.

He has yelled at me, said that I had used him to get my papers, and have threatened me really bad. He said that he will do everything he can to screw with my application, that things are going to get messy for me, and that I will not just walk away. That I will pay a high price for leaving the job.

I thought that 2 weeks notice was the rule in Canada, and I told him that I was willing to stay longer if he needs.
Even though I am trying to help him, he kept threatened me, saying that he will try to remove me from Canada.

What can he really do against me in terms of immigration? He knows my name, and address.

Can he call immigration and have officers to remove me from Canada just because I am not happy working for him anymore?

Once I was told that when my application is received by immigration I am protected, I am in process, and nothing could be done before a final decision was taken. Is that true?

I really dont want to loose my application.

Help me!!! Tks

Let me be very clear You will be ok
yes things are accessed on the basis of your one year experience, NOC, reference letter and job duties. If you dont require
any thing else from employer ur ok.

And you didnt do any thing wrong if its a bad environment then quitting is right thing you have done...\
Good luck

you shouldn't done like that....you have got AOR it doesn't mean your application will success and smooth.. sometimes office will call your employer for accurate information that you provided. If I were you. I will work with your employer till get medical examination request from CIC.

If you don't mind, may i suggest you to go back to apologize to your employer and work for them...Make employer happy with your perform until the end. if you come out from them like this...I can't tell...what happen in the future with your process..
Calling is rare and CIC never depend on one call. They check reference letter. My friends in same situation got PR

I dont think he need to apologies if its not his fault. Reason you are immigrating to Canada is because every one enjoy equal rights. And people who dont fight back always been suppressed so I don't support what you just said

In my opinion, you can send additional documents which support your employment with your company along with an cover letter explaining what just happened. Make sure you send all your pay files, your offer letter, T4 and other documents which provides enough proof that you worked for an year in Canada. In the cover letter mention your manager is not co-operating with you after you quit the job and may provide false information. You send your manager an email asking, after you quick your job, there may be a chance CIC will call him for details and he is requested to provide the accurate information. Send a copy of that email along with your cover letter. I guess you should be fine.

Seniors.... what do you guys think?

He already submitted his application. I don't think he need to do any thing unelss they ask for it. But, it wont hurt to send all documents offerletter, T4 , pay slips after all this they wont call. They only call if they have some doubt. Dont send cover letter its some thing uncalled for right now. I mean why to stir the controversy when every thing is smooth

The only thing he can do to you is give CIC wrong info when they call for employment verification and there is a low probability that they will call..so cheer up man

No, you're not :) Don't worry.

I have applied for my PR few weeks ago, my Ecas status is 'application received', and due to bad work environment I have decided to quit my job.
Today I send out my 2 weeks notice, which made my boss freaked out.

Let him/her freak out. Your application will be assessed on the documents you've submitted in your application package and not your
current employment situation. So leaving a job is no problem at all.

He has yelled at me, said that I had used him to get my papers, and have threatened me really bad. He said that he will do everything he can to screw with my application, that things are going to get messy for me, and that I will not just walk away. That I will pay a high price for leaving the job.

I agree, you will pay a high price :) But not for leaving the job, you'll be paying a high price for your PR application. Ok, jokes aside.
Again, don't worry. Your boss can't do anything to revoke your current status or cause any trouble for your PR application.
If your submitted papers were filled correctly and you haven't missed any documents, then you will walk away from all this as a
permanent resident in a couple of months.

I thought that 2 weeks notice was the rule in Canada, and I told him that I was willing to stay longer if he needs.
Even though I am trying to help him, he kept threatened me, saying that he will try to remove me from Canada.

As I already said above, he can't remove or have you removed from Canada :) Employers like to play that card
to scare employees, but they don't have the power to do so.

What can he really do against me in terms of immigration? He knows my name, and address.

Nothing.

Can he call immigration and have officers to remove me from Canada just because I am not happy working for him anymore?

No.

Once I was told that when my application is received by immigration I am protected, I am in process, and nothing could be done before a final decision was taken. Is that true?

Well, no. You can stay in Canada during the application process as long as you have a valid visa and continue to work as long
as your work permit is valid ( if you have an open work permit ).

I really dont want to loose my application.

You won't. At least not based on what you've said above.

Help me!!! Tks

RELAX!

See comments in red above.
Having said all that, I would recommend talking to your manager, or someone else ( obviously not your boss ) who
could confirm your employment and your duties with your company.
CIC might call the person who has written your letter of reference to confirm your employment, if this is your boss,
then he could try to mess things up.
Easy to prevent if you submit additional contact details to someone else who can confirm all that, along with an explanation
( all that you've said above ) explaining why you're worried that your boss might screw you over and that this is
the reason why you submit additional contact information.

Hope this helps.

You did not state what PR program you applied for - new members often post in the wrong forum, so just to be clear - did you apply for PR in the Canadian Experience Class?

If his boss was the one who wrote the job reference letter, what happens if the boss calls CIC and say "I wanna clarify something I wrote on the job reference letter for Mr. XYZ"? ???

We immigrants will always be treated differently (in a negative way) especially before getting PR status. I think we should all hunker down and tread safely, even after getting PR. It sucks but it's the way things are :'(

without application number they wont even care to talk with his BOSS..
If some one can do like this then people would have been screwing with others application.
Get ur facts clear.
