hey everybody

last year i lost my pr card, i called cic told them i lost it, i asked the lady if i need to re-apply again she asked me if i am planning to leave the country any time soon, i said no and i was waiting my citizenship test so she said i dont need it, so i didnt apply, as i was gathering my document for my test next week, i couldnt find my original confirmation permanent resident, and in the letter it says i should bring, pr card, original confirmation pr, i am afraid that i will be denied to take the test, i cant wait any longer as i have been waiting 2 year for this day to come, will i be allowed to take the test without these two document?

pr card and the copr are the most important documents in the citizenship application. phone the cic and try to explain your situation. did you send the copy of these documents when you filed your application?

yes i did sent both of copies when i applied back 2011, so they must have copies but if they in the letter it says bring original and i dnt have them, my test is on the 14th and i really dnt want to miss it, i cant wait another year! but i have my driver licence, travel document. will that be enough to take the test?

They will let you in for the test anyway. The only thing you need to show in order to enter the test room is your test invitation letter on hand and your photo ID ex "driver's license".

They won't even bother talking to you or anyone individually at this point, as the line up will be huge and the time is tight.

They will only verify the date, time, and address on your invitation letter at the door. After you are seated, they will verify your photo ID "driver's license" to make sure that it is you the one who is writing the test.

However, writing the test and passing it is not really the only main issue here. After you finish the test, you will have to convince the officer during the post- test interview as to why you don't have those original documents on you.

The officer will then decide on the next step, and most probably will give you hints on what is gonna happen.

Good luck.

I really have no idea what is gonna happen here. Don't wanna give false information or hope.

All I can say is, try to be positive, wait and see what is gonna happen and good luck.

Thank you so much for your help, what you think that hint might will be? Ask me to re-apply them? Not let take oath before I get them?

As I mentioned, I cannot really guess what the officer will decide. They won't deny your application and ask you to reapply only for this reason, as long as you qualify for citizenship. However, this might delay your Oath for a bit.

Good luck.
