my work permit expired aug. 22, 2010 but I already passed an application of OWP and PR status. My employer really bear with me too that they want to keep me until I can get my OWP...what are the things or steps that I will do? Do i still have to pay tax and my employer will pay deductions? My SIN is also expired. What will I do. please help.

It is not very clear from your statement what is OWP (open work permit?) and PR passed? Since your work permit expired, you need to stop working first, then restore your status within 90 days. Then again apply for work permit, after you receive a work permit, then you can work again!

Since you over-stayed in Canada (3 days as of today), your PR application will be in jeopardy!! Please think carefully and take necessary steps ASAP!!!

hi....it says in Ecas that is is already in process. and its already getting 1 year of waiting from the time that i passed and processed my PR/OWP application. i called the CIC about my expired work permit and they said that no need to pass or apply anything cause you already had an OWP/PR status that is in process.

Should I ell my employer that it is better for them to call CIC to know everything cause they still want to keep me until I can have my Open work permit.

application for Open work permit/Permanent resident status

application send: june 16, 2010
application received: june 19, 2010
application processed: aug. 30, 2010

It is getting 1 year of waiting from the time they processed it. They said it will only take 8 to 9 months waiting for the release of OWP but it haven`t arrive yet until now and my work permit expired.

OWP-open work permit; PR-permanent resident
Len30 belongs to LCP.I don't know about the other program of the govt but for LCP when you pass your OWP & PR applications you're on implied status even if your work permit expires already.you just don't have all the benefits not like if you have a WP. She doesnt need to stop working. As long as she's with the same employer her application is not in jeopardy. If she changed employer, she needs to apply a new work permit.

It is not 8-9 months. It's 15-16months. Just hang in there! You're almost at the finished line! Cheers!
