Please Help. Visa Refused

I had applied for student visa in Australia, but I was refused under GTE clause. So I want to give Canada a go. However I met with a certified consultant and he told me that in my SOP for Australia I wrote "Australia is one of the best countries to get a higher education from". In other words, I was talking good things about Australia and praising it (I did not talk bad about another country). So now the consultant is telling me Canadian embassy will have the details to my Australia application and will see that I was praising Australia and now suddenly I switched to Canada just because Australia refused my visa, so Canada could also just refuse my visa, unless I find a good reason to tell them why I switched.

Please help me out with this...

Hi
Ur consultant is mad he doesnt wanna work on your profile anymore because of one rejection. Do u know the exact reason mentioned by VO? U can always try for canada. Canada will see rejection reason of australia. But difficult to comment anything without knowing ur profile

Thanks for you reply Lmahida

Exact reason was that I wouldn't return back to my home country after i finished my studies, even though i told her i don't have my family in Australia, we have property here, my entire family is here and we also have a travel history to Malaysia , Singapore, Thailand and we didn't breach any of those visa conditions and came back before the visa expired. Also, the Visa Officer thought that the course I applied for (masters in IT) wasn't related to my previous education and future goals, She also stated that IT is a growing field in Pakistan as well so why not study there.

I completed my bachelors in CS with 3.10 CGPA and 7.0 overall in IELTS (no band less than 6.5).

Hi i dont see any reason y ur study visa can b rejected. U just need strong sop if u apply in canada stating y r u choosing international degree versus domestic. Take asmission in top university. Depends on the political scenario also. Best luck.

I'd like to know how to tackle this situation when applying for Canada. What should I say about why I switched from Australia to Canada. I cant just say "because Australia refused my visa, but I still want to complete my higher education and thats why I chose Canada".

Any sort of help would be really appreciated

As various options available to me in the education field in international arena i choose canada due to quality of education and international recognition. It has more weightage in pakistan than the domestic degree due to increased competition as my peer groups are with international degrees.

So Australia can release information regarding your application to Canada? Is this true?

I guess so, because if I apply to Canada, I will have to tell them about my Australian Visa refusal. Can't hide such information from them.

Pardon my ignorance, but there seems to be a difference in acknowledging that you were denied a visa by another country, and having Canada know the specific details of the denial - such as what you wrote about your reasons for wanting to study there. Regardless, the above advice seems solid. Focus on the desire for an international graduate education to allow you to be more competitive in your home country, and emphasize the determination that you have made Canada to be among the most competetove/beneficial for graduate studies.

Thanks for your reply and advice Tubsmagee

It's just that the consultant was telling me that Canada would have access to my past visa refusals details and they could also check my SOP that I provided when applying to Australia, and read that I had chosen Australia as my first preference and that I was speaking so highly about that country and its education system. So there would be a conflict there.

I am from the US, so maybe my perspective on education is different. It seems reasonable that residents of many places might reasonably say that two or more places are among the best places. I have never applied for an education visa, so take it with salt.
