We just have a few questions that we have tried to Google or to follow along with the instruction guide.

First question: in the relationship evaluation form, it asks for my previous jobs (I am the sponsor) so I put my work history for the last 5 years. One place i worked for was cruise company based out of the states. NOW my question is do I list that address of that company as one of my previous addresses? My husband says yes.. I say no as I didn't really reside there plus I put the corporates address which was never my home port. You know what i mean? Just like for him, he works for the cruise company as well but he is currently residing in India so we didn't out it as residing in the states. Is that okay?

Second question: he has to fill out the additional travel sheet, one part says spouses travel, would I need to fill this out as well? I did read some people said no as I am a Canadian citizen. But just double checking here.

Third question: we had a small ceremony at my house with only my step dad and mom. My dad and brother couldn't make it as the road conditions weren't favourable that day and they live 7 hours away. Is that going to be red flags for CIC? And second, we are doing a small celebration in India. Is that okay? Should we explain our reasons why we didn't do a big celebration/ceremony in the space provided for extra details about our relationship. And should I also explain there as to why I didn't change my last name?

I think those were the main questions.. We are just filling out the paperwork now.
Thanks so much for all your help.

  1. Put the corporate office and then add a sheet explaining where you actually worked (ship, port, etc)
  2. You don't need to include your information
  3. No requirement to change your name. Add some details of the marriage and plans for India. Make sure the relationship aspect is detailed (how you met, how it developed, etc)

Thank you for the response!!

We actually discussed doing what you just suggested, just to be in the safe side. I never needed a working visa so that's why I was so on the fence about it. Just like him, he works for the cruise ship currently but we never put his residence as the USA because he doesn't have a working visa or tourist visa. He just lands and joins the ship the next day. Do you think that's right?

Thank you again!
