Hi everyone,
I'm currently doing my master degree in Canada at Queen's University. My family is in Dubai, UAE. My parents applied for a visit visa back in April and they got approved, they visited me for 4 weeks without overstaying or any issues. Now my sister wanted to visit me, so she applied on 2 August but got rejected this morning. This is her details:
- She is 30 years old, single
- Staying in Dubai under dad's sponsorship, so she has a residency there
- Working in Dubai
- Has about 80,000 CAD in her personal bank account
- Doesn't have any other visas on the passport
- Her purpose of visit was to attend a conference (which she is registered in), and to visit me

The reasons for refusal are the following:
Travel history
Family ties in Canada and in country of residence
Personal assets and financial assets

Please help! Is there any way to get this visa approved with such a profile? what should she do?

Thanks a lot

How long a visit did she request?

Can she provide any further evidence of her ties outside of Canada?

Generally speaking, it's more difficult for people who are younger and single to be approved since it's more difficult for them to show ties.

Thanks for replying.
She applied to visit for 20 days, she included an employment verification letter, which includes her current employer, position, salary and all the details. I couldn't think of anything else to ask her to add. Do you have any ideas?

I do understand that this is the situation in general, but is there any chance she can fix these issues? and can my existence in Canada help in any way?

Thanks again

Your existence in Canada actually harms her application and makes CIC more concerned she has plans on remaining in Canada long term.

Did she include a letter from her employer giving her leave to take this trip. What evidence did she include about the conference she is attending in Canada? Are her employers sponsoring her participation in this conference?

No, she didn't include such a letter. For the conference, she included the registration invoice which shows the confirmation and the paid fees, plus a visa request letter from the conference organization. And no she personally registered and paid the fees for the conference, the employers did not sponsor her

So, any ideas or suggestions?
