Hi,
I was wondering is anyone on this message board can help me.
I have sponsored my husband for permanent resident visa and they have had his Papers for quite a while. They are waiting upon the police Certificate from Saudi Arabia and this is the only thing that is making the papers take a while.
The thing with the police certificate from Saudi is that he went to Saudi Arabia on a tourist or temporary visa for an Islamic Pilgrimage and then ended up overstaying his visa which is only for 30 days. He stayed in Saudi for 2 years.
This was all stated and backed up with copies of his passport with the issued visa and his entry and exit date from Saudi arabia. We clearly indicated he was there for pilgrimage and ended up staying there studying but also being an illegal resident with no papers.
So this information was not hidden from the Canadian Embassy that is processing his application.
the Embassy tells me now that they are waiting for Saudi Arabia to send them a police certificate but I know this is quite impossible because Saudis dont issue police certificates for people who were in Saudi Arabia was a temporary visa or a tourist visa.
The Saudi officials had no nowledge that he overstayed and only found out when he left the airport the day he left Saudi. An official asked him where he had been hiding jokingly and then let him go with no further questioning.
They have nothing on him and no record of him being in Saudi Arabia what so ever.
So whats the solution. This is the last step until they give him an acceptance or reject him and it takes a long time. I dont want to be waiting all this time and at the end only for the Saudi's to tell the Embassy that they have no record of him and cannot issue a police certificate.
Please advise.
