Please help: PR Visa/COPR reveived - Expecting baby before landing

Hi All - We received our PR visa and COPR letter on Apr-15-2016. Our Visa expires Jan-15-2017 (we need to land before that). Last week we came to know, my wife is 4 months pregnant and expected delivery date is mid Sep-2015. Our doctor advised against travelling long journey flight. Therefore we are thinking of delivering baby in my home country and add her into PR application.
Since we already got our visa and COPR, will CIC allow us to add new born baby into the application? If yes, how long it will take to add her into our application and get visa? Please advice.

Best thing to do it to call CIC and find out. You still have loads of time on your hands. It's possible to add the new born baby without any problems. I don't know much about the timeline but call CIC.

I'm not sure what the circumstances are but if I were you and your wife, I will travel and have my baby here in Canada. It's just more convenient. A lot of pregnant women in their last trimester travel around. I know two women (family friends) who travelled for about 20 hours in their 8th and 9th months of pregnancy and they and their babies are perfect.

But hey, do what's best. Congratulations!!

Possible and makes it easier to claim citizenship for the baby but keep in mind any province minimum residence rules to qualify for hospital attendance for the birth else could be expensive.
