Hello EXPERTS,

**PLEASE ANSWER ALL THE QUESTION IN AS MUCH DETAILS AS YOU CAN. LOT OF DECISIONS WILL BE TAKEN ON YOUR ANSWER and AVOID ANSWERING IN JUST YES OR NO IF APPLICABLE** :'(

I wanted to know after we get the visa ,Is there any deadline that i need to follow to land in canada. ?

scenario is for example purpose only: Lets say
ITA got on 8 feb 2017
Medicals done on 25th march 2017
PCC done on 20th march 2017
eAPR submit on 12 April 2017
AOR received 12 April 2017
PPR received on 25th sept 2017
PP Done on 1st oct 2017
Visa issued for 6 months. Visa start date is 1st oct 2017

1..They will give you visa and the visa expires in 6 months right?

2..If yes to point 1 then Now instead of landing in 6 months can i land post 6 months i.e on 20th may 2018 ? If this has an impact.? What is impact and how to avoid it in a way that i will still be able to land in canada on 20th may 2018? (PLEASE ANSWER IN DETAIL)

3..When you land at the Canada airport for first time what documents and verification or what all things are asked , and what all forms you have to sign ? (PLEASE ANSWER IN DETAIL)

4..Next question.Lets say i can land within 6 months and I land on 1st march 2018 and then i complete the formalities and go to my friends place in Calgary, Alberta to stay there for 20 days till 20th march 2018. The friend is an old neighbour of us and not a relative. So in these 20 days what needs to be done to get the PR card and all other things as I am thinking to go back to india on 20th march 2018 ? (PLEASE ANSWER IN DETAIL)

5... Also how much time it takes for the PR card to arrive at your address, in my case calgary. ?

6...For receiving PR card at your place is there a necessity that YOU should be there to accept the card or my friend can also accept it? Does the courier guy asks any questions why is the applicant not here etc etc and rejects it?

7..AS STATED EARLIER, i want to leave canada on 20th march 2018 and come to INDIA to continue my job so now If i want to come to India before the PR card comes at my uncle place IS IT POSSIBLE to leave Canada and come to india ? IF YES HOW ? AND WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE?
Because this is a very important question to me. (PLEASE ANSWER IN DETAIL)

8..Also if you see the point 5 my visa is also expiring on 30th march 2018 as per the visa issued to me is only for 6 months. In this case is it like that i cannot come back to canada now once I am back in India?

9.. Do i have to wait for the PR CARD TO come before i leave to India ? (PLEASE ANSWER IN DETAIL)

10...Also is there any expiry date for the PR card? If yes how much?

11... Also once i go back to India i will come again only after 2 months or max 3 months till 20th May 2018 or before. So please advise what all things needs to be done to come again ? Also , Will i need any documents again to prove that i had PR and for some reason i went back to India ? Also , will they now allow me to enter canada ? (PLEASE ANSWER IN DETAIL)

12... In case if it is postponed i.e What if i come back from India after 5 months i.e i left canada on 20th march 2018 and came back again on 20th sept 2018 ? What all things needs to be done here as the months gap is more here (PLEASE ANSWER IN DETAIL)

The reason i want to come back to India because i am not sure i will get a descent salaried job in Canada rightaway as i dont have the require experience in IT Sector and i do not want to use my funds right now and also the project in my office is good enough to take nice experience hence cannot afford to lose a good experience...hence i am going to live 20 days in my uncle place. Also, I do have funds but not much as i have to use it for some personal reason. Furhtermore , i want to make sure that job profile is secured atleast for Indian jobs incase if nothing happens in canada.

Also i will be free from my project in 20th May 2018 and hence wanted to try for landing on 1 june 2018. Hence i would like to know the answers for my above questions.

Currently i have just received ITA on 8 feb but need to know how this process is as i need to take some personal and professional decisions which will have huge impact.

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE

Hi Vivek,

I don't have answers to any of your questions. Rather I am still behind you in process, i.e. Submitted ADR and waiting for the Nomination, but have similar questions.
Let's hope to get answers from experts in this forum.

1. expiry of your visa will be 1 year from your medical examination date (happens in 90% of the cases)
2. You'll have to land there, even at least for a day, before expiry of your visa. You can request for extension but only in very limited chance and in emergency, they may consider extending it and you'll have to go for medical again.
3. When you land first time, they want COPR, your passport, list of goods you are carrying, proof of funds (but these days, for most people they are not asking for if you are soft landing i.e. not moving permanently yet) etc.You may wish to carry all documents you have uploaded in e-APR just for verification purpose but they will never ask for it (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/arrival.asp)
4. You just need to fill a form at the time of landing (first landing) for PR card and provide a local canadian address where this card will be delivered (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5445ETOC.asp)
5. At least 45-60 days (maximum 6 months) to get PR card..
6. You do not have to present there at given address to receive PR card.
7. You can normally leave for India even on next day or landing in canada.
8.Once you are back in India, you can not go back to canada without PR card so tell your friend to courier you this PR card. Exception is that you can arrange for Permanent Resident Travel Document from CN Visa office.
9. Yes or arrange for Permanent Resident Travel Document from CN Visa office
10. PR card is for 5 years
11. Coming again in september will be a normal entry to Canada with your PR card.. No more questions or checks

5. At least 45-60 days (maximum 6 months) to get PR card. Any fast way or expressway to do to get the PR Card so that i can carry it with me?

8.Once you are back in India, you can not go back to canada without PR card so tell your friend to courier you this PR card. Exception is that you can arrange for Permanent Resident Travel Document from CN Visa office. Somebody advised me that it is illegal to do this process of asking your friend to courier it to your indian home address IS there any other way than this ?

9. Yes or arrange for Permanent Resident Travel Document from CN Visa office. How to arrange this ?and what is the procedure ? IS there any fee?

Dear stunner,
I would have appreciated if you would have answered my questions rather than just writing the above. Thank you. You may not know if this issue is faced by some silent spectators out there as well. Furthermore if you see the post there is one more candidate who wants to seek the answer to the same questions i asked.

Request you to please help rather than just telling applicants why are they writing so many questions. As you know this is a forum where every person is seeking correct answers. If you do not wish to contribute it is fine but please do not write why are you asking long questions. Every applicant case is different. Anyways i do not want to say more and do not wish to continue this as it will deviate everybody on this page from the topic

Your post was too long to read. People on the forum are very helpful but not obligated to answer in detail. At the end of the day we are not immigration advisors. We are trying to help but please don't base all your decisions on what people on the forum answer here. You have to make your own decision based on what works for you. You will get loads of different opinions and it will only confuse you.

Ashwani +1 for you.

I can vouch her answers are all correct.

And Vivek - Your attitude needs a re-check. No one is obligated to answer. When someone is helping you, the last thing you need to do is be rude. Stunner was confirming to you that Ashwani was bang on and her answers are correct. If you are still not convinced, please spend money and get a immigration consultant!

well it was a comment - that was a LOT of questions :) took me 7-8 mins to read through everything, and then re-read the answers ashvin gave to see if they were correct.

i have already given my $0.02 - FYI
