Please help! Interview results are in....

hi everyone,

my husband went to the interview and we submitted new evidence this morning. As far as i know the officer was a bit confused? about our relationship, because we got married after knowing each other for 4 months. i love my husband and i don't think time was or is an issue for us to get married. We just knew we were meant for each other. She was concerned that it was only a civil ceremony and that I only had my sister and a few friends over. the rest of our family couldn't make it cause they live overseas. We thought we would plan a religious wedding and then give them enough noticed to make plans to attend. After going through all the new documents letters, bank statements, greeting cards and photos... she went on to say that she needed a week, two weeks, a month or 2 days to let us know her decision. According to my husband she was very vague in her responses. I was hoping she would gives a favorable decision right after the interview. What do you guys think? I really love my husband and I want him to come back home. We just have to wait and see for now, but I am really afraid. i don't want them to deny him his permanent residency. What should i do?

She said exactly that? That seems an odd thing to say. Well it seems she wasnt convinced before of the marriage genuinity but perhaps with the answers he gave and the new evidence submitted she will reevaluate it based on those. I hope she makes the decision in your favour Did they ask for his passport? Keep us posted

you don't have to worry they might ignore evidences at this point but appeal will be fair with you inshallah.

I was reading your comment, and the first thought that came to my mind was - all of these items that you took to the interview, why didnt you submit them all in your ORIGINAL submission? It quite possibly would have saved you the interview (time, possible appeal etc..), and it would have given them more information on your relationship.

3 months is a short time in an Canadian frame of mind, but in many countries [esp. muslim ones for example] this would not be a short time frame, especially in an arranged marriage. As an applicant/sponsor going into the immigration process - the burden of proof is on the couple to show as clear a picture of how they met, how they courted, continued contact, [fell in love] and who else was around them in this time frame to witness the relationship blossom.

The CIC and I/O are looking for documented proof thorugh photos, letters from friends and family supporting you as a couple, and receipts or proof that you have spent time together (in person, on the phone, on the internet - however you have passed time with each other to develop a relationship).

I have to agree with smart saquib - prepare a better case, and if they don't give you the ppr now, then give it all you have at the appeal. Best of Luck and keep us posted.

Airbus did you show any proof like adding your husband on your home bills, adding him on your life insurance, health care, phone bills, emails etc. I had a civil marriage as well and only 8 people was invited and my situation is exactly the same because I'm having another ceremony sometime in the near future.
BTW we are still in process and they have requested a few documents from my husband but not sure about the interview.
One question did you provide as well proof like boarding ticket that you had visited your husband? Like Boncuk and Rasha mentioned you had to provide evidence before the marriage as well.

Hi there,

Thanks for the support! We're dealing with the mexican embassy. We had submitted ALL our proofs to the Immigration office prior to the interview, but we were asked if we wanted to add more proofs during the interview. I will keep you posted we are still waiting for their decision. Thanks again!!!
