I had to book my flight when my long estranged father whom I haven't seen for 15 yrs have contacted me and wanted to see his daughter... I just got hired at new company and it was tough getting 2 week vacation to come to Korea. I didn't even realize my pr card was expired and I applied for renewal with my immigration lawyer in December 2017. It should've come 1~2 weeks ago so I thought I would receive it before I have to return to Canada.
... Well it still hasn't come and I have to go back to Canada tomorrow... I need to arrive on May 1st to go back to work on May 2nd... I have renewal application receipt, expired pr card, proof of employment and also a proof of sponsorship for my husband because he got his pr by marrying me. We have a son who is a Canada citizen. I never left Canada for 8 yrs until now... I have all the tax information from past 8 yrs to prove that I lived in Canada for past 8 yrs without leaving the country. I was only in Korea for 2 weeks so didn't have time to apply for PRTD either... There is no place that issues it as Korea sends the documents to Phillipines. Takes too long...I don't have enough money to buy ticket to USA and drive to Canada either... It was tough for me to even come here in the first place. Just had to see my father for the first time in 15 yrs... I fly with Air Canada... is there any chance they will let me board? Do airlines pay fine for boarding pr without the card even if they pass through the custums? Or only when they get deported back? Please help...
