Please help! Im Confused!

I am married but separated. I have two kids and I am confused as to what number should I put/answer in Number of Persons in Household or Number or Family Members? I do not intend to include my husband in my PNP application. Should it be 3 (me and my two kids) or 4 (me,my two kids and my ex husband).

PS: He agreed that I will take the kids to Canada for he knows it is for the best interest of the children. He already signed an Affidavit of Travel Consent and Waiver of Custody and Rights of the Children and also form IMM5604.

Thanks for your reply Lammawitch. I have here my Affidavit stating that we are separated. Also I got a solo parent ID, too.
