Please help, I'm a US lawful resident can I apply for religious asylum in Canada ?

Hello

I'm originally from a middle east country but now I'm an international student in the USA and I want to apply for religious asylum in Canada because I can't do it in the USA since I have to apply within the first year of my entry to the US !
Can I apply for the asylum in Canada?
I have no visa to Canada
Can I just apply on the boarder between the US and Canada ?

In that case you can't due to the safe third country agreement.

You have to claim refugee status in the first safe country you reach - in your case this was the US.

There is an exception to the safe third country agreement if you have family in Canada. However since you don't - the exception doesn't apply to you.

You can in fact apply after a year. It's just more difficult and you have to explain why you didn't apply immediately.

I would strongly recommend you explore your options in the US. Applying through Canada is pretty much guaranteed to end in refusal.
