My work permit is getting expired in end of January and I have already applied for PNP nine months back (May 11th 2015) as well as Express entry CEC recently can anyone please advice what will be my application status once my work permit is expired as well as is there any way I can extend my work permit (I have just received acknowledgement letter from PNP.

My employer is ready to help me in all ways. Please let me know asap its my heartily request what can be done and what doors are open for me.

Nothing will happen to your application status as both PNP and CIC guys have seen the xerox of your WP and its expiry date. Go ahead and apply for WP renewal/extension with the help of your employer. Parallel to this, file a request for bridging WP request to PNP guys.

Apply bridge extension

Thanks Folks,

But How can I apply for a Bridging work permit until and unless I don't have supportive documents, I just have Aknoleghment letter from PNP, and I don't think thats enough for extension of my work permit.

Please Advice!

Sir, Madam,

Thank you for contacting Citizenship and Immigration Canada. I am pleased to follow up on your request:

Bridging open work permit - Certain federal economic class applicants

You can apply for an open work permit if you:

Have applied for permanent residence (PR) in Canada under one of the admissible categories of the economic class and are the principal applicant,
Have received a positive eligibility assessment on your PR application or, if applicable, the Acknowledgment of Receipt from the processing office,
Are currently in Canada, and
Already have a valid work permit that is due to expire within 4 months.
For information on the admissible categories, please visit our website.

To apply for an open work permit, you must send an Application to Change Conditions or Extend Your Stay as a Worker to the Case Processing Centre in Vegreville, Alberta.

You must do this before your work permit expires. You keep your current status under the same conditions, until a decision is made (implied status).[/b]

The application is available on our website.

this is useful, my wp will expire at the end of Dec, 2016, looks like I have to prepare the open work permit around Aug, 2016.

I just tried the questionnaire, but the webpage says I can apply for open work permit if answer yes interns of if received first stage of approval(presuming the AOR), seems it doesn't say this is type of Bridging open work permit, thus I am a little bit confused. I am wondering if the wp will show "Briding Open work permit" in the formal permit?

Thanks!

It doesn't show bridge but this is for those whose cases are in process and they can legally work in Canada......And you have to apply paper base application for that.....I did the same

It will not say Bridging Open Work Permit anywhere. It will appear as just Open WP. You just send application "Extending your Stay while in Canada" and select Open Work permit in application (depending what you have right now - Open or Closed). You can apply online as well - that's what I did and it went well for me.

In my case I did not apply online because it did not give me option so the CIC phone agent sent me link and recommended to apply paper base application in my case.

Thanks buddies. I chose 'no' to extend my current work permit (until end of 2016) which means I don't have to choose open work permit while in progress of PNP/CIC. and now it's approved for my wp and my wife's owp. Given that my IM case will be hopefully approved around July or Auguest in this year, so I guess I will have no chance to do more time of extension under BOWP.
