Hello experienced people,
My brother-in-law has been offered admission to both Brock University MBA-ISP program (but needs to first complete CAS program) as well as Laurentian University 2 year MBA program.
Any advise on these programs or universities that can help us in deciding between the two is very much appreciated!!!

Thank you all

Brock University is a lot better than Laurentian University in ranking.

get enrolled for MBA from Brock but get visa on the basis of Laurentian MBA.Becuase conditional admission will create problem in getting visa as we have seen two or three students denied visas for TRU pre-MBA program. You can change university after reaching canada. :D

Thanks sam420!. It is a good idea. Right now inclination is more towards Laurentian itself - as the course is 2 years as opposed to Brock - 3 years including the CAS. Fees for Laurentian is confusing. We are trying to find out the exact fee structure for the two years.

Also in the end it is all about getting a job after the MBA and honestly, I think either from Brock or from Laurentian the chances are the same. Industries near the Niagara belt (where Brock is located) are reducing and on the other hand - Sudbury - where Laurentian is located has mining industries only.

Hi, go for laurentian MBA. If it was Brock MBA then i would tell you to go there without thinking twice but "Brock MBA - ISP" is NOT the same as "Brock MBA". Infact it is a joke where they will, basically, be teaching you english.. and it is useless in terms of employment opportunities.

Add to this the fact that they will make you take an extra year of foundation classes only to join a foundation mba ...

Thanks ss789!
We have the same thought process as you do. You are correct in that Brock MBA ISP does not seem to be the same as Brock MBA, but we did not know the actual differences. The ultimate goal is to get a job after the degree - be it Laurentian or Brock.
Can you please tell us more about the Brock MBA ISP? Are you a candidate or already a student?

Thanks again

Hi, I have been accepted at Brock MBA for this coming fall but I chose to go for Uoft MBA instead. So having applied to Brock, I did my research on the program and also on the ISP program. I talked to one of the student ambassadors for Brock MBA as part of my application process and she told me that even the students at Brock don't conside ISP students "real" students as most of them are either chinese and can't speak a word of english or arab and spoilt. You will not learn much in the ISP program other than work etiquette of canadian companies and how to dress and talk to other employees at work.. even your teachers will treat you as ESL students.

Again, its about the degree.. go for the 2 year fulltime mba program at laurentian.

Your inputs are valuable. I am researching on Laurentian too. The MBA seems to be more focused on part-time working people - it states classes are only 3 hours on certain days of the week from 7:00 to 10:00 PM!. If you know anything (or can find out through your friend's circle) about Laurentian MBA, that will help us.
Also please let me know if you need any info on Rotman as I graduated from there. I can also try to be of some help to you.

Thanks again

Thanks
