please help!... can i go home to the Philippines before going to Canada?

i need your help... i process my visa here in Saudi Arabia and just received it. i want to go home to the Philippines for 1 month and planning to go to Canada directly. What are the procedures and requirements needed?... please advise... thank you...

inform the consulate of canada of your plan and directly ask them if it's possible to transfer the processing in the philippines. are you visa approved already? if yes or not yet; course your question to the consul (v.o.) it's from the reliable since this is a rare case situation. hopefully you can share whatever the consul advises so other readers undergoing same situation will get enlightened too...

So you have the visa already.

As long as you have completed your exit process from KSA and have obtained all the clearances you can take a break in the PH and from there fly to Canada.

Please note however, at exit in the PH, you will be a departing TFW - thus you may have to comply with POEA requirements for departing foreign workers - OEC, PDOS, etc.

aside from those requirements they said that my employer in Canada need to do some paper works to be submitted in the Philippine consulate in Canada. is it true that there is a new guideline regarding this?

Yes that's the POLO in which part of Canada are you working? There's Toronto and Vancouver offices

If I were you better exit at KSA rather in the Phils. My friend did that and it took him 2 months before she exit Phils. There are lots of documents needed by POLO and your employer might be annoyed of the documents that POLO are asking.

Hi dear.
I am also processing my visa from Riyadh Embassy. and I think you can definitely go to ur home town (Phil) and then travel to Canada, as long as ur visa is valid to travel and enter Canada.
I have already asked about this to my lawyer who has processed my application as I myself plan to go to my home town India spend some time with my parents and then travel to Canada. So don't worry.
U just inform your Employer in Canada about ur travel plans and ur prospective date of coming to Canada and joining them. If they are OK with the dates then I guess there is no problem.

By the way many many congratulation for getting the visa. Please could you share your time line in detail with us here as it will help a lot to applicants like us to get an idea of the the time taken to process our applications in Riyadh Embassy. Also plz do let us ur NOC code under which u have processed ur work permit.

Good luck and i think it is better to go to canada as there are alot of documentation required to exit Phil.

The main thing you need to exit the PH with a worker visa is the OEC. To get the OEC however - this is where you need to provide all of those POEA requirements. .

You may want to give POEA a call, or have someone to find out how you can get the requirements done.
Also - I believe there is a thread here for this already....you can search for it.

Is getting out of Phil so much difficult after getting the visa also??
I guess then this would be a special case for Phil only and not other countries like INDIA.
