Hi, Please give me your suggestions. One of my friend is in a terrible situation and stuck while waiting for the oath at Mississauga office. The whole family went for the oath on 25th may. Suddenly while sitting in room, his kid got the toilet urge and he had to take kid to toilet. The moment he left, judge started the ceremony and father missed it. Whole family got citizenship except him. The kid was already Canadian as he was born here. Now the father is stuck. He already informed the CIC about what happened and CIC informed that thay have updated the scenario on 17th june and he will be rescheduled again.

Please tell me as to what we should expect now ? Any suggestions will be highly appreciated. When should he expect an oath date ? I searched the forum a lot but did not get any thread which could give me an idea of waiting time after rescheduling oath at mississauga office. Thank you. Below is his timeline.

To Be Honest there is nothing more that can be done, as you have mentioned he has already informed CIC and CIC told him that he will be rescheduled again. So all he can do is wait at this stage. You can always try calling the local office for a possible update but if you miss your oath you go back into the list and just have to wait for when you are included in the Oath list by the local office.

Assuming the facts as stated, there should be no problem. But, it would indeed seem at least a bit odd that the oath has not already been rescheduled . . . unless this involves an itinerant services location (for which oath ceremonies can be many months apart) or is otherwise a location for which scheduling the oath is backlogged.

Assuming the facts as stated includes assuming he appeared and checked in for the oath ceremony at the venue and time scheduled, including surrendering his PR card and signing the affirmation of no prohibitions just prior to the ceremony, and that he informed CIC of the problem before leaving the oath venue that day, by informing officials there at the venue.

If that is how this went down, NO Problem, no problem.

As samreentariq noted, it is just a matter of waiting to be rescheduled.

Otherwise . . . that's a very different scenario.

Curious: did they return the PR card, that day, when he returned to the room for the ceremony and informed CIC officials about having to make the, in effect, emergency exit?

I think it will all boil down to the reason he provided for missing the 1st oath ceremony as I presume they won't take the lightning struck twice argument so lightly. But anyways most likely it will delay his case, but if won't affect his case as long as he has actually not made any misrepresentation.

actually he went to india after the test and the ecas was not updated after that . he he nevr knew the date came and missed. He also linked all his post to canada post but he never received any such post there too. So he missed his first oath. Second time, that unfortunate thing happened. Although he could have actually managed without going outside but he made the wrong judgement call and now waiting again.

He was even handed the citizenship certificate and only oath was remaining. once the oath is missed, they returned the PR card immediately to him back. Another update- he said that the official said that if the oath was in morning, then they would have rescheduled him to evening same day but since, his was evening batch, so official said cant do anything. on of the mother missed oath in day due to some child reason but she was rescheduled for later same day.
