You need a 2 year course and 1 year of work after that to qualify under CEC. You can read about the requirements here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/cec/graduates.asp

The jobs you mention with their 4 digit NOC codes are:

1414 Receptionists
1422 Data entry clerks
6611 Cashiers

None of these are skilled. The way you see that is that the code for a skilled job either starts with 0 or if it doesn't, then the 2nd digit is 0,1,2 or 3. For the jobs listed above, the first digit is not 0 and the 2nd is 4 or 6 so that means semi-skilled or low skilled.

You can look for more job profiles here: http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/noc/english/noc/2011/OccupationIndex.aspx

Hi,

I applied under FSW2 in Mar 2011. My current staus is RBVO at BVO.

I just checked at CIC that I may be eligible under CEC under Foreign Worker.

My situation

I studied for 1 yr which includes 3 months of co-op, and graduated in jan 2011. I started working at my current employer since Sept 2010 as co-op student. Upon completion of my co-op I was hired permanently but part time, even when I had more than 24hrs every week. In Feb 2011, i was offered full time permanent position and later in Feb I was promoted to Supervisor (earlier NOC was 6216, new NOC is 6313, both Skill Level B as per NOC Matrix). I was on PGWP from Mar 2011 till Feb 2012. Since Feb 21, 2012, I am on a closed work permit based on LMO issued to my current employer.

As per the requirement of CEC, I should work for 24months to be eligible, but I did eligibility test on CIC website, and it says, I am eligible. Not sure which one to follow, and if it is worth taking the risk of applying again, money, time, duplicate applications, etc.

I have Master's from India, and graduated from Post-graduate diploma program (which had min requirements of bachelor's degree or min 5yrs of exp in related field, I had both).

Any suggestions or inputs are appreciated.

Regards,
Shiv

If you only studied for one year and have now worked for a bit more than 1, you are not eligible for CEC yet. To apply under the graduate program, you'd need 2 years studies and one year full time work. To apply under the worker program, you need 2 years skilled work.
