Hi,
I'm a single mother, living seperately from my husband. However, I'm not legally seperated. I've a passport for myself and for my daughter. My husband name is included in my passport. His name is also included in my daughter's passport as legal guarding/father. My husband does not want to apply for a legal seperation for the fear of societal stigma; however, he does not have any qualms about my plans to immigrate to Canada along with my 3-year-old daughter. He is pretty much willing to cooperate in this regard. Would it be enough if my husband gives a notorized letter stating his no-objection in letting me go along with my daughter? Please clarify how we can manage to get Canadian PR.

Many thanks

Parry

Dear Parry,

Maybe you'll find more answers in the Family Immigration forum? :D

I am not very qualified to answer this; however, what you can do is apply for yourself and your child. mention that you are married, but that your spouse will not accompany you. So you file only for yourself and your daughter. However, you would need quite some co-operation from your husband/ex. Even if he is not accopmanying you, you will still have to do medicals for him I guess. Good luck to you.

hey i dont think this is a problem,
when you fill one of the form where you have to attach your photo, then ask you if your spouse will accompany you to canada or not,
there you have to chose yes or no,
so i dont think this can cause any problem what so ever,

single mother cannot be common in your country, but it is very common in canada,
so dont worry and go through the forms once

Thanks a lot :) . What should I check in the marital status-Seperated? If so, do I need to submit any documentary proof of seperation? I don't have any :(.
