I have been brought up in educational environment that led me to pursue excellent academic profile. Science has always been my area of interest since I had got it as the core subject while schooling. As a part of this interest I was always putting extra efforts learning about scientific principles used in day to day life. During my graduation days, I aimed to research on treatment for various diseases, so I chose Pharmacology as a main subject to get master in, and I researched on the effect of a plant extract in kidney damage on rats as the topic of my dissertation. Since then I wanted to expand my work on such projects and I actively update myself about various interventions in the field of medicines. I think one of the most distinguishing thing about me is I am always excited to learn new things with positive attitude and hard working. Apart from this, I love exploring different cultures and I am passionate about singing.
After finishing my masters I worked as a Retail Pharmacist where I was doing patient counselling and dispensing the prescription and non-prescription medicines used in the treatment of various diseases by healthcare professionals. I was constantly in touch with Pharmaceutical journals and news, and having primary knowledge about pharmaceutical market, I then wanted to work at the industrial level. I joined the UK based R&D unit where I was reviewing the complete medicinal product profiles to get the approval from regulatory authorities (EMA & MHRA) for various drugs, formulations, vaccines and diagnostic products. While working with this I felt that I am thorough about my theoretical knowledge and I should incorporate this knowledge practically by improving my experimentation skills. I realised the current level of skills are not sufficient to move to the vast area of research and working in highly precise and strict laboratory conditions. Also, the top pharmaceutical companies in the world look for exceptional research skills and practical knowledge.
Biotechnology is a multidisciplinary science that includes various fields of research such as food, pharmaceuticals and vaccines, and there are plenty of job opportunities globally. I strongly feel that the combination of my academic qualifications, different work experience that I have gained, and now an additional course for upgrading the techniques that I have learnt during my graduation and masters will improve my overall research know-how. I am sure that this will create a unique job profile that will help me reaching the desired level of success in the global market. This is why I feel fast-track advanced post graduate diploma in Biotechnology will direct me towards the next phase of career.
After deciding to study, I collected the information and got to know that Canada is one of the best places to study and Canadian colleges and Universities highly focus on practical applicability of education. The study programs are affordable and recognised worldwide. After communicating with my friends in Canada it came into my knowledge that it is very peaceful and safe country, being a country of immigrants it respect people from different cultures and that will actually put me on global platform, and by getting to know people of different nationality there are immense scope of overall learning while it will also help me overcoming my language barrier on the other hand.
It is really important for me to study at a well-known institute and Centennial college is known to be one of the finest and oldest colleges and very popular for its exemplary teaching. Students from throughout the world come there and studying in a multicultural environment and learning different things is not less than a course itself. The selected program will help me get expertise in different areas such as Quality Assurance, DNA analysis, food and pharmaceutical products. This program may help me work on my dream of research on Cancer and I have wonderful chance to take my career to the new heights. The core feature of the program that attracted me the most are focus on project approach with different projects in food, cosmetics, vaccines and pharmaceuticals that will enhance my research expertise, laboratory techniques and presentation skills that are must to implement in career. I am sure that this study program will put me to the career path that I aim for.
Thanking you in advance.
