Dear All,

I am having trouble applying due to my degree. I graduated from UK with both my masters and bachelors degree in Aerospace Engineering. both degrees are specialized in structural engineering in aerospace industry. However I have not been working in aerospace industry. I am working as a structural engineer in Civil industry. and both degrees mention aerospace in the title of my certificate and transcript as well for most of the modules.
Its like my job is related to my degree but the title is totally different. And i have been working here since 5 years. its a professional engineering job but not in aerospace industry. I am so confused right now, i some time think that am i even eligible to apply for express entry / skilled worker?

Please some one guide me should i spend all that much just to find in the end that i cant apply because of this. If i can apply which title i should apply for from the NOC?
Aerospace Engineer Or Civil Engineer?
I checked both of them have structural engineer in them. But still confused should i go with my degree title or job?

any help will be appreciated.

Its very simple, you have to choose an NOC where you have experience. This is for the reason that you have to submit a reference letter from your employer for a PR application which states the jobs and duties you have performed, no. of hours you have worked, person you have reported to and the remuneration you have earned.

Now u have 5 years of experience and if u feel that ur employer will give a reference letter of a civil engineer u should choose the NOC accordingly

good luck

You just have to get your education assessed, there is no compulsion that yo u have to show a degree matching your job role or vice versa . Getting education assessed is one of the primary requirements for canada express entry. For a masters degree ul get good points.

Thank you guys it really helped me a lot. I was just afraid that even my degree is assessed. immigration officer will receive both. so they may start comparing and reject on that basis. Thanks again.
