Please be so kind to guide me if this is work permit number and do this allow me to work legally in Canada?

After this confirmation , you will received work permit by mail . then with work permit and one ID you should go to Service Canada and request SIN .

Social insurance number. You need this to work.

This means your work permit was approved. You'll get the actual work permit in the mail soon. It looks like this:

You mean getting the hard copy of the work permit? Normally it's about a week or two, but with Canada Post on strike this may take longer than expected.
