Hi All,

I wanted to know, How is the job market of canada are there any good chances of getting a Job with a green card (PR) of Canada..Huh??
Or it is like US ..where most of the Jobs are for only US Citizens. Even after getting permanent residence, is it like that, You need to be a canadian Citizen to get a Job.

Also, I wanted to know, if the PR applied under the NOC category , After getting the PR we wanted to change our fields of Job can we do that ?

What are the Conditions imposed for the PR of Canada ?
How easy it's to get a Professional job in Canada ?

Please suggestsssss and Guide. As sometimes it's like an illusion..when go go thr it's different.

Thanks in Advance

Aries

Citizenship & PR have almost the same priviliges,

Under PR, you are allow to stay in the country permanently & gets some extra right, e.g employment without permit, to certain extent claim to benefits, access to other amenities in the country, but has no right of vote & has no say in the (Political) System. In case of politics he still has to refer back to his own home country. Citizenship is bit more than PR, its when one claims his loyalty to country, takes an oath and shifts his loyalty to country. Follows the certain rule & becomes the Citizen. Then he also obtains the right to dwell as well being an active member to take part in system & have his say in the Politics (earn right to vote). Refer to www.cic.gc.ca for more info regarding PR.

About finding a job, I think that would depends of each individual. I know a couple of canadian citizens that have not been able to find a job, but in the other hand there is people that have got job offers outside of Canada. I may say that It would depend on the individual directly.

Nobody cares if you are PR or citizen except for government jobs. The hurdle is Canadian experience and Canadian education. Lacking that, you have a harder time getting a job.

If you want to change your NOC after becoming PR, re-train in another field, go back to school, whatever, that is your right. As a PR, you have the right to live, work and study in Canada without restrictions.

Ok, I will explain.

You are an employer. You advertise a position. One guy shows up. He has a degree from a college you know, maybe your friend went to this college, maybe your cousin, maybe some of your other employees. You know it's a good college. You ask the guy where he worked. He says he worked for some companies you have also heard of. You know how they do business. You know because maybe you have worked there yourself or your cousin has or some of your employees come from there. You know they do business similar to you because you are all in the same country. You know what this guy knows.

Then another guy shows up. He did his degree at a college in whatever-land. You have no idea what he learned there. You ask him where he worked. He has had some work experience also in whatever-land. You have no idea how they do business there. You have no idea what he knows.

Which one would you hire?

There is always a chance. It just means you have to try a little harder. Be ready to take a lower level position and/or less money and work your way up or apply until you get lucky and are the only applicant :D
