Please advise-Application pending since more than 6 months

This is a question for a friend of mine !
Need your kind advice what to be done to check what's wrong
He submitted my application on 1st August 2017 which is more than six months now.
Medical Check up is now passed
Background check not applicable
No additional documents needed
No fingerprints needed
No interview needed
Application in process

The issue that all of these updates have been changes since long time with nothing showed up again
Some of my friends got the PPR 2-3 months after submission

What could be wrong in my case?
Some people say if he does any update like email change on my application , it will give an alert to the officer so he might re proceed with my application?
Please advise !

Maybe you file is in background checks.
In some case that could take more time than normal. There is separate thread for that group ( BCs for more than 6 months)

Did your friend order GCMS notes? They might help you in getting an insight on the application.

If you know someone in Canada, then you can request notes through them with the ATIP.

If you don't know anyone in Canada, then you need to use a third party website. In this case, you can try www.gcmsbuddy.com for ordering notes.
