Please advice: linking paper application through GCKey

Greetings:
I understand that one may get updates about pending paper application by registering at Government of Canada website and getting GCkey and then linking application. Is my understanding correct and has any one done this.

yes all you have to do is create your gckey account and link ur paper application. and it will show u updates.

i did the same and waiting for update only.

I applied from VAC office i have got only tracking id and reference number i have created account on GC KEY trying to link my application but it say no record found
