Im am sponsoring my husband in morocco. I'm in the process of filling out the applications. I just turned 18 a couple of months ago and I did not file any taxes yet. I called CRA and they told me that it would take 16 weeks :'( ! I don't need financial proof to sponsor my spouse, neither of us have any children and my parents have agreed to support us until I finish university. Should I send my application anyways :-[ ?? If anyone has any information your help will be very much appreciated!! thank you!

Re: Do you need Option C printout?

If you don't have the option C printout you can just write a letter explaining that since you've just turned 18 you've never filed taxes before. That's definitely an acceptable reason to not have the Option C.

You'll have to show as much proof as possible that you'll be able to live in Canada without an income though. A letter from your parents stating that they'll support the two of you while you go through University, for example.

Re: Do you need Option C printout?

If you just turned 18 and you are sponsoring a husband, you might have a hard time proving this is not a marriage of convenience.

Wait a sec, isn't the legal age of marriage in Morocco 18? If so, CIC will definitely raise a few questions. Make sure you explain the genuinity of your relationship well. I am hoping you have a good solid history with your husband before you guys got married.
