Planning to study two 8-months certificates fulltime and need to know about PGWP

Hi,

I am planning to study two 8-months certificates, one is Accounting and another is Advanced Accounting. Can anyone tell me how long can I get the work permit for? is it 8 or16 months or perhaps 2 full year? I am applying to York uni school of continuous studies.

What about 8 months program. Do you think it counts as 1 year or just plain 8 months for my future gpwp? Cause if so then I was planning to find any course that gives 2 year full time study. But then I thought its not like students going to study full 2 years. They will have summer or winter vacation right? So it should be between 8-10 months per year not a full 12 months a year course program.

Depends on how the college treats it on your transcript, letter of acceptance, etc. Because of scheduled breaks, eight-month programs can become a full year.

From my understanding 8months is considered one “academic year” & you’ll be awarded a 1yr PGWP after completion

Were you able to proceed going to York University for accounting and advanced accounting? How was it? Is 8 months considered as 1 year?
