Hey I'm in the same boat asyou are. I have 7yrs of IT exp and planning to go for MBA from Canada.
I have a few admits as I have given GMAT, but not sure if I will get visa after such a long gap.
I would still suggest you to give GMAT a try and get in to a decent masters program as future prospects are better from colleges with GMAT as requirement.

Best of luck !!!

thanks for your reply, sadly i did gave a try for GMAT, unfortunately, not my cup of tea, dont wanna score less and spoil my chances, yes even i am wary with the visa thing, how ever, now that you have given GMAT and have received admits, do u have any idea about universties where they accept the ielts score for a 2 yrs masters program ( prefrebly ontario).

do let me know..

There might be no university that will accept you without a good GMAT score especially for any program in Business, even for a post graduate diploma in a program that will lead to Maters, i am not sure you can find any in business programs.I have been looking since August 2012, i havent found any, for any Business program, you must have GMAT or GRE score, so i suggest you go for a related course in College for a post graduate certificate, some Unis too offer it. Dont look at the PR from the begining look at experiencing a great time of learning in Canada, connet with people, attend all jobnetworking programs while you are in school. You can never tell, you might get something greaat from there.

i understand, gmat or gre is a pre-requsite to get in a gud uni for a masters, how ever there are certain unis ( TRU/Vancouver island) that admit on the basis of the ielts score, really not sure about the repute though, also, will a lengthy professorial career (9yrs) be a substitute for a gmat/gre?. Correct me if i am wrong, can i opt for a post grad dip/certficate program of one yr? i mean i have graduted long back(2001) so am i eligible for such a program? Also, even if i do the post grad dip/certificate will i have to still go thru a gmat/gre to get to a masters program??

You need 4 years degree to get into Masters,
And you have slim chances of Visa for Diploma in College.

Good Luck

Hi,

I also tried universities after 7 years work exp and now finally I have chosen a govt college for Pg diploma in international business mgt and going in may 2013 intake. So for applying in colleges u need a good IELTS score and rest you have to study and score good.

That's what my plan is !!

I have a similar experience of insight sales of US market and business development I did my grad around 10 years ago.... So hoping for best going this month end.

:)

That's disheartening! So even a TRU or a Vancouver island or a ROyal road would need a 4 yr degree?also, I was told by some consultant that I do not qualify for a dip or 1 yr certificate program because I graduated prior to 2005 , I really din get the logic but is that true?
