Hi ,

My name is Chhaya and i work for a private company in new delhi, India since year 2011. I recently got married in january 2014 and my spouse currently holds a post graduate work permit visa valid until 2017 and is a an IT professional- server administrator which comes under skill level a, b, c and I have travelled to canada on a TRV visa and returned bak to join my office. I understand that i may be eligible for an open work permit which takes 4 to 5 months for processing , i would like to know if i can apply for a tourist visa simultaneously and travel on the same until an outcome for open work permit is received if not can i just apply for a tourist visa and lodge the open work permit ( dependent spouse) once i reach calgary, canada as i plan to resign from the job soon but i am concerned -will resigning from the job minimise my chances of getting trv visa even though my spouse holds a work visa till 2017.

Grateful if u can help me with this query at earliest

Thanks in advance

Regards

Chhaya

Hi Chhaya,

Your profile is quite strong because you already visited Canada. To get visa quickly, you should apply TRV and apply OWP after landing to Canada, then resign from the current job. Even that, if you have TRV you can resign your job.

You just have one risk for visa rejection, because your husband is in Canada you must convince VO that you will leave Canada after visa expired.

Getting TRV, everything will solve. Check the link below to avoid mistake

Hi,

I don't think the below reason is strong enough.

You must proof your strong ties in your home country like how you get visa last time (property, your employment, your family, bank account)

Tks, Thang

That is not a problem as i have my documents ready with d evidence of property, both mine n in - laws! Bnk account statements, itr's ! Evidence of family business !

But the doubt i have is if i apply for a trv wont the high commission object n ask me to apply for OWP

Thanx again !
