Planning for student visa

Hello Fellow members,
My wife is planning to have a PGD is SCM in canada. She is willing to pursue a 2 years PGD.
She completed her graduation in Urban and rural planning and started working as a research assistant. In the mean time she also completed her Msc in Urban and ru
After around 2 years, back in 2013 she started working in the SCM sector. Until now she is working in the same sector. Mean time she also completed her MBA cause it was required to compete with her peer group. During admission, the University said they will offer major in SCM but finally she didn’t get it as there were no other students.
So now she is thinking about taking a PGD in SCM in Canada.
We have a little baby boy and she want to apply with dependents (our son and I).
Experts, please let me know,
1. Is it a good idea?
2. The probability of getting visa for all of us.

She has a Msc, an MBA and years of experience....and now wants to do PGD? What is the progression in that? Probably of visa is very low IMO. Good luck.

Taking a PGD after 2 Master and years of experience is a step backward. Go for a Master or PhD instead.

She already has two Masters level degrees. It's going to be a hard sell to convince IRCC that she needs a PGD. I would say the chances are even lower if she applies with dependents. Having said that, she can certainly try.

My wife don’t have any interest in doing Research / PhD. She likes corporate jobs and having a professional degree is a great addition in her CV.
As she has MS and MBA so its worthless to apply for another MS. That's my thinking.
Want to hear something from the exparts.
I have seen hundreds of Indian performing this course and getting high level jobs in India as well as in other countries. So i was thinking about it.

You have a point. And that's most concerning.
But she wants to pursue it. I would say to go for it. If rejected then will try in other countries may be.
As her office will also allow a 1 year paid and 1 year non paid study leave so she is definitely going to do it. Whether in Canada or any other place.
Let's see what happens.

I think you and your wife needs to spend some more time researching your options, cos clearly you don't know about the different options available to her. There are many course-based Masters and Professional program that she can pursue. Not all Masters program are research-based.

You asked for opinions and the general consensus is that she will likely get refused visa as it is glaringly clear that pursuing a PGD is not a progression in her academic history and that she is going school as an immigration pathway. But it's up to you to go ahead and try your luck.

Thanks a lot for your valuable option.
I know about course based Programs. But the Problem is financial. We can't afford that much amount.
