Hi, thanks guys for the reply.
I'm Italian and I've been studing at Seneca college for two years. Currently I'm working as co-op student.
My study permit will expire in 2014.
I have to say that I achieved many awards from Seneca such as president honor list etc for the high grades that I'm getting.
Now you have more informations, what do you think it's more suitable for me?
Thanks again.
Edit: my course is computer programming and analysis.
Hi Brian,
Since you are an Italian, you don't need to worry about TRVs/ Temporary Resident Visa like others. Now as you have mentioned, you are studying for past two years and also have a valid study permit till 2014, I assume you are studying a 4 years degree course in Computer prog. & analysis.
After completion of your studies, you can apply for POST GRADUATE WORK PERMIT and since you are pursuing a course of duration of more than 2 years, you will receive a 3 years open post graduate work permit form CIC. To learn more about PGWP, visit:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/work-postgrad.asp
Now, after receiving your PGWP, you can choose to immigrate / stay permanently in Canada via many ways. Usually the 1st route to stay permanently in Canada is via CEC or Canadian experience class, in which, after pursuing any course of minimum 2 years, you must find a SKILLED job (ONLY NOC O,A OR B type jobs and not unskilled or any low level jobs-NOC C,D) for 1 year and then apply for PR via this route. see:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/cec/index.asp
2nd route is through PNP or Provincial nomination programme, where if you do a skilled job (NOC O,A,B) for just 6 months (may or may not be in your field depending upon province), you can apply for nomination and then PR. And since you are in Ontario, you can look forward to apply under Ontario PNP. See:
http://www.ontarioimmigration.ca/en/pnp/index.htm
3rd route is you may choose to shift to other provinces and apply under their respective Provincial Nominee programmes.
So, there are plenty of options. just concentrate on passing your course, get the PGWP and then find a skilled job and choose appropriate pathways towards your PR.
Best of luck.
