hi all iam new 2 this forum. iwant to know one thing
actually we r waiting for our pps back after stamping, we want to plan our baby & iwant to know if it is possible to move with 3-4 months pregnancy & and if yes, then what would be the status of the baby.
one more thing we want to ask that is it right to have a baby when we r not yet settled or is it wise to wait for 2-3 years unless we r properly settle down.
iwant to know abt the expenses of maternity over there?any answer would be highly appreciated

Deciding when to have a baby will be a very personal descion. However, I know that if you land in Ontario; you will not be eligible for medical benfits till 3 months. I also know that in Alberta,it is free from day one. Once you have the health card, it will cost you no money. My borther paid only 15 dollars because they insisted on a private telephone line; otherwise it is fully insured. the baby born will be a born canadian citizen.

WAITING
Being a female myself and logically thinking i feel you should not go for a baby unless you are settled with a job and house.
Simply because initially after shifting you will have to struggle with settling down, finding a job, finding a house and making all documents, finding a maid or help to assist with baby
If there is a new member to family then it involves medical expense, preparing more documents, expenses on child and small child needs care and time most of your time will be spend in baby then doing documentation will be difficult.

Once you are totally settled and relaxed emotionally and mentally then go for a child.

just my personal opinion.

Wish you luck

There is another reason why you might want to wait until after you have settled. If you start a job and work for a certain number of hours, you become eligible for employment insurance, 55% of your wages, during your maternity leave.

hi! shinaindia, are u the primary applicant? i suggest not because i was told by my consultant not to get pregnant because this will cause you a very long delay. you will be asked to deliver your baby before you go to canada because they are sure that once you arrive you will not yet work and that they will be obligated to give financial support. i know someone who was not a citizen yet but when she delivered her baby the canadian gov't gave some financial support as well as monthly financial support for the baby,,,

Am glad you said the decision will be an easy one. Much as it is personal other views helps us in taking decision. i am also a female applicant but would definately settle down well before i start thinking of a baby. pregnancy most times comes with its peculiar challenges and i cant afford to combine that with sellement challenges.

best of luck in youe endevours
