hi to all the pinoys waiting for their ppr and visa, i know medyo nakakainip maghintay but it will soon be in your hands...na miss ko rin ang forum na 'to...

for those who are asking if there are lots of available jobs in s'toon, medyo marami din naman. kaya lang, if mapili ka then prepare your self to be stuck at home for months searching for the job that you desire. pero if ok lng sa yo mag work sa walmart, superstore and the like for a start, in just few days eh may work k kagad. timing timing lng magkaron ng work na gusto mo and if meron mag refer sa 'yo. usually dito, job is through referral. i suggest while looking for your dream job eh mag work din kayo kahit ano para d maubos ang fund nyo. in most cases yan ung mistake ng new migrants here, nauubos ung baon sa kakahanap ng gusto nilang work.
pero, i also suggest not to stop looking for your dream job pag may work na kyo.it would also be best na mag upgrade especially dun sa mga professionals. honestly, wala pa rin ako matinong job, good thing meron full time work and husband ko and in line naman sa profession nya un nga lng downgraded kase need pa namin mag aral para ma recognize ang profession namin dito.
difficult din for me to work right now kase wala pang pasok mga bata. sep 5 pa ang start ng school year. hopefully, magkaron na ko ng full time work sa september.

if you have concerns and i could be of help, just let me know...

ps..walang jollibee dito, pakasawa na kayo jan... mcdo, bk and a/w, yan meron dito... :)

helu ellian, salamat sa mga advises mo, yan din ang plano namin nghubby ko, survival job muna...ask ko lang kung paano ba, mag avail ng student loan? kasi meron kaming nagustuhan na job, pro kailangan pa yatang mag aral(certificate)...do you think it's a wise move na, mag student loan kami to enrol on our desire bridging course?

KAIN MUNA KAMI SA JOLLIBEE....UBOSIN NAMIN LAHAT, KAHIT SI JOLLIBEE HUG NA NAMIN...HEHEEHE...

hi doc basti,

yes you may avail student loan. however, if you're planning to loan a house or car, it will definitely affect your credit standing. ung friend ko nag avail mag student loan, accordingly you'll pay for the loan once you have a job in line with your field of study. as much as possible ayaw namin mag avail ng loan kase nga we're starting to build our credit history here in canada. lahat ng binibili naka charge tapos bayad agad. usually naman ang payment dito is debit or charge, bihira ang cash.

pag mag open ka ng account, choose scotia kc meron sila promo for new immigrants and meron agad kasamang credit card.pag dating nyo, get sin sa canada service sa downtown. if meron k anak, kuhanan mo din sila regardless of age. apply your health card online, you'll just need your copr, bank acct copy and proof of residency (get a certificate from the tenant). and get a drivers license as well. ung sakin eh road test na lng, madali naman ang written test. sana makapasa ko sa road test, medyo kakaiba dito, need mo talaga mag follow ng traffic rules kaya mahirap sakin kase ung driving style sa pinas alam ko....hayyys, hopefully 1 take lng sana ko...

Marami jobs dito sa SK. Me mga kakilala ako na dumating last year to work at Wendy's and its true na 6 months nga lang pinag-file na sila for PR.
If you get here via work visa....you have to stick to your contract and work permit. Maraming circumstances kasi na pag naghanap sila ng new job after getting here....inaayawan sila ng prospected employer kasi ayaw magbayad sa new work permit.

Heto mga kababayan,me nakita akong thread dito na makakatulong sa mga job hunters:

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/finding-a-jobmy-advicemy-experience-as-a-recruiter-and-job-seeker-t75616.0.html

hello Tiger Lilly...just saw this thread...if i may ask if this holds true until now, that Wendy's is supportive of their employees to apply for PR...would the Temporary Work Visa be an easier path to getting PR than FSW?...what positions do they give to their applicants?...where can I browse about their job hiring?...thanks in advance for your reply!

Hi ellian,

Thanks for the information you posted here and it gave lots of inputs about what to expect. Im flying out here in NZ by end of October, Im planning to settle down in Sask or Regina it depends where I can get a job but when I check in craigslist about the available accommodation, its only a handful available for rent. Is there any other website where I can check for any available room for rent or shared accommodation?

By the way, when is the start of winter in Sask? Balita ko masyado daw malamig sa Sask. Pero Im used to it naman kasi 5 years din naman kami dito sa NZ although di lang nagyeyelo sa lugar namin.

I prefer Sask kasi medyo maganda ang review in terms of economic value but still mas kayo nag nakakaalam if this is true kasi you're there already. Anyway, good luck to all of us and Im looking forward for your reply.

Many thanks.

hi ask ko lang malayo ba ang saskatchewan sa manitoba? thanks

hi all,

manitoba,... depende kung san sa manitoba. pero yorkton is around 45 minutes away from the 1st town of manitoba, and yorkton is around 4 hrs naman from saskatoon if you're driving at 95-100 kms/hr. pag galing regina mas malapit.

ung tungkol sa rent ng apartment or house, go to kijiji.com/saskatoon. medyo mas madali mag rent ng apartment ngayon kase marami sa mga pinoys dito sa s'toon kumuha ng haus kaya nabakante mga apartments. sa west side mas mura compared sa east side, sabi nila magulo daw kase dito sa west, pero so far di naman. d ko naranasan mag winter dito, spring pa lng. nung dinalaw ko husband ko eh spring kase nun, ang nakita ko lng eh snow flakes which is kinda nice. pero pag yelo na talaga eh d daw nakakatuwa sabi ng husband ko, hehehe. anyways, for 2011 winter eh mild lng daw ang winter, wala sa kalahati during 2010 kase super snow daw nung 2010. well, kahit naman sa chicago and other parts here in north america na merong snow eh ganun sinasabi, parang wala lng ang 2011 winter. sana ganun din ulit this coming winter...last year, ang snow is pumatak after xmas na.

don't expect too much about the city of saskatoon in terms of city life kase wala nun dito. ang mall, isa lng sa downtown. ang aga pa mag close kapag weekend and mon-tue.tapos ang bus konti lng, $3 cad kada sakay mo pero valid w/in an hr naman. so kung mabilisang gala, $3cad lng magastos mo sa fare.

pag meron kayo ask na kaya ko sagutin, just let me know...

hi po sa lahat! buti nlng nkita ko ang page na to....i am applying for spousal open work permit..im waiting na rn ng final result from CEM...
hopefully kng pgbigyan ako ni God na mkapunta sa Saskatoon po...sana mkahanap agad ng work....medyo worid lng kc wla po akng job experience pwede ba yon??thanks in advance! :) :)

Am hoping we can make it next year and settle to Sask..hahay, so many frustrations while waiting.. :'(

God bless nga pala sa lahat ng papunta na sa Sask.. Hope you'll get back in this thread and share us some experiences.. :D

God bless you all..=)

Hi to all,

I will be arriving in SK in two weeks. Care to share the weather there? Any tips on what to expect, what to wear, winter tips, etc? Btw, I'll be staying in Kindersley. Any fellow Pinoys living there? Hope to see some of you guys!

Scotia bank gives $50 for new (below 3 years in Canada) Immigrants/Workers/Students when they open the "START RIGHT PROGRAM"

Eto din ang inopen namin nung bagong dating kami dito, approve kagad ang credit card for $1000 (no credit history needed) Noon wala silang referal program.
