It is really good to hear about others' experiences. We have an ongoing spreadsheet for 2013 CIO applicants earliest submission was July. You may want to check with the other thread and have your timelines included. Although that is not exclusive for Filipinos, you may be interested how others are doing.
Yes, I saw this one and I joined. Nakita rin kita duon. I hope the forum mates there will also start talking about their landing and job experiences when they arrive in Manitoba. Many disappears from the forum once they get to Canada.

I haven't got my AOR yet, so I cannot answer your query. You should try MPNP/ Manitoba/ Winnipeg forums if you are heading there. Some of the forum mates have already their AORs and MRs so they can answer your query.

Hi narsse,

I hope this post grows, as it will help us to track each other's application.

Hi tabs and everybody,

I would like to ask ideas about eligible accompanying dependants,my son will be turning 23 tomorrow and someone said i cannot include him in my application in which I plan to lodge next month because his age.As I go over with the definition from the website it states that eligible accompanying dependants include adult children between the ages 18 and 25 who are not:married or in a common -law relationship and pursuing full-time academic, professional or vocational training. My son is still on full time studies, I supported him financially and has no part time / full time job.

Hope you can share ideas regarding this matter. Salamat po.

It is possible, you will have to show a lot of proof that your son is really dependent on you.

see link: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/sponsor/spouse-apply-who.asp

Check out the definition of 'dependent children'.

I haven't got AOR yet. I sent my application just last 28 September 2013, outland applicant.

Are you an inland applicant? This strike surely backlogged a lot of applications, so I don't know how they will handle all of this. And Christmas holidays are coming. Ah, don't worry, it's been almost a month, you will hear from them soon. I also keep on telling that to myself LoL

Hi tabs179,

im currently an engineer here in ph..call center was the first job of my sister last 2011..she got a job after a month of being in winnipeg..

with regards to her wedding, i dont know yet..but im helping her here the best way i can..God's will..

thank you so much.
Hi tabs179,

Hey, how are you? I finally paid my fees online using my peso debit card..thanks to your advices before..

But, i'm confused again, wat copy do i need to include in my application?because based on the document checklist for fee payment, it says that "attach the bottom portion (copy2) of this receipt to your completed application" what does it mean when they say bottom portion and copy 2?

while on the receipt itself, it was stated that you do not need to send a copy of the receipt to cic if you have paid online?

Please help, what those statements mean? what did you include in your application?

Thank you so much.

Istel

Hi tabs179,

And do i need to fill up the Fee Payment Form in the checklist?

Thanks a lot.

Istel
Hi Istel,

Am good, thank you for asking. Trying to be patient and not anxious about the application. LoL
So, even a peso debit card works, not bad.

Okay, about my online payment, first check your email, you will receive a copy of your receipt there. Print that one out. If you have two pages, print them both, make two copies of each. Keep one copy for yourself.

I had only one page. I filled the parts: name, date of birth, address, postal code, area code and telephone number. I don't have any client ID, so there is no need to fill that in.

That's it, pretty simple. Don't worry too much if you only got one page. The important thing is, your receipt has a barcode and that you also received an email as an acknowledgement that they received your payment.

I sent a copy to CIC because it was in the document's check list and it is better for them to have a hard copy rather than checking online if you have really paid. It makes the process faster. The other important thing is that you sent them more proof of documents than something is missing from what they requested. Because that will cause delays.

Hi tabs179,

Thanks for the help..how much did you pay?

I only paid the 550CAD for the processing fee. I didn't pay yet for the residence fee I will just first wait for their approval before paying for that though it was indicated that it will make application time faster if being paid along with the processing fee..

Let's just all pray..and believe, one of these days, they will reply to our application..

God bless.

Engineer ka pala, eh di regulated yan. Mag-aaral ka pa sa Canada.

So, out of curiousity, ano na ang work ng sister mo after nag-call centre sya? Is it in her field? Wala kasing nagsusulat about the job experiences in Manitoba sa mga forums. Madami Vancouver, Toronto and Ottawa.

Even landing experience, wala.

Then thank God natanggap cya sa isang company ngaun and regular na yata cya..plus may part time pa siya so talagang tama ung saying na kapag nawalan ka dont be sad because something better will come your way..

God bless you.. I hope someday magkita tau dun.

I paid for visa processing fee CAD$550 and Right to Permanent Resident Fee (RPRF) CAD$490. So, total of CAD$1,040. I decided to pay everything in one go, it might speed up the process LoL. Besides, I wanted to be charged only once by my bank for processing fee. Refundable naman ang RPRF. So, when are you planning to send your application?

It's okay, I also replied late to some threads kasi hindi ko nabasa agad ang mga messages. Thank you for this information though.

May I ask, what is your sister's field of education?

Maliit lang naman ang Winnipeg, for sure we will meet there. Baka sa Manitoba Start Program hehehe

At least you are in Canada already. It is harder for us because we already want to start with our new life as soon as possible. But I do definitely understand your frustration. I am counting days LoL and I still got months to go.

Good luck to all of us. ;D
