I printed pictures of me and my spouse from my personal printer, as proof. Is that fine? Or should they be the formal picture quality?
Should the pictures be more of us alone? Or more with friends?
We have been for 8 yrs and us aging is really obvious.
Thank

You should include pictures from your wedding too. With friends and family 20-30 pictures would be fine. There isn't a particulary guideline on how much picture you shpuld include. Ypu should include as much picture you think is enought. Al together included about 200 pictures. For me that was all i include.

I included only 70 photos. :)
Try to include photos of important events of your relation, from start to now.

I agree with DesertFlower.. think quality over quantity! Nobody wants to see over 100 pointless selfies of the two of you, unless they are super significant in some way! Instead pick pictures that show you guys doing activities together, family gatherings, things like that. We included a few selfies but ones that clearly show something happening, for example one with the Eiffel Tower in the background from our honeymoon trip.. or when we were at a sporting event and can clearly see where we are and what's happening.. I hope this makes sense :p

We only had about 60 pictures in our application. A good chunk of our wedding and honeymoon and some random events throughout the relationship.

Hope this helps!! :)

We submitted about 30 with our application package. Selfies, a few with my wife and myself from our wedding, from our honeymoon, and some doing activities with my son.

We just recently submitted a second set via Case Specific Enquiry that included 35 extra. Those included family barbeques (including all of my family, and even her mother from overseas), fishing, touring Toronto and Niagara, just random photos that show the strength of our family bond.

I just offered a case update. I also wanted to include some additional information. I am involved in Family Court again with my son's mother. I wanted to signal to them that issues previously described when we applied are nearing resolution. Also included a few other little things that the CIC may be interested to note. Was more of a free-form update.

Thanks guys all of u helped. I am taking into consideration the pictures that i chose. Mostly are of us alone not much with other ppl... many from our wedding and a bit of our honeymoon. We have been together for 8 yrs so the pictures show the age difference i hope that is taken into account.
I dont have that much pictures of us with his family other than wedding pictures, do u think that is a prob??

You can only guess what the CIC Officer will be looking to see. It's subjective. As a rule of thumb, they want you to prove you have a genuine and continuing relationship. 8 years is powerful, yes. Would you not having any real family photos raise questions after 8 years -- maybe.

The approach we took to selecting photos was this:
- a few selfies at different stages doing different things.
- try to show as much activites with my wife as we could. Show as much fun as possible. Time together is a positive indicator.
- try to show several photos over time with my son as well doing activities and having fun. This means I have exposed them to each other and the bond is growing. Another positive indicator.
- try to show us engaging and having fun with family at events. This means they are engaged and supportive (usually). Another positive indicator.
- show anniversaries, honeymoon, and wedding.

Then I had two independent people provide an impartial opinion on what photos we collected. Tell them to devoid their minds of our relationship, and to provide an unbiased opinion. Remember, you are invested in this, so what may seem obvious to you, may be lacking for others.

That's my opinion.

Best of luck.

I did not understand what u meant by this.

He has pictures with my family, both together. However we do not have pictures with his. Expect two with his sister. His parents are not the type that like to be in photos, thats why.
We have one with his dad over Christmas and 2 with his sister.

Ok so this raises another question. There are picture with his family but we r not in them both together at the same time. Maybe i can do a collage. They can see us at the same event but not in the same picture? I do know if u got what i mean..

It's fine if you're not both in the same picture together with relatives.
I have sent pictures of my husband with my sisters and with my mom. I think it's good to show your spouse together with your family (even if you're not present in the photo) and vice versa. Especially on holidays like Christmas, because it's a holiday when families tend to be together.

I wouldn't bother making a collage. Just make sure to put a brief description under each photo (with date, event and list people who are in the picture).

When you view the photos you have collected, it might scream 'genuine' to you. To someone who is not in the relationship, it might not seem so. It's an outside opinion.
