Hi everyone,
Is anyone else a physio trying to get a permanent residency visa??? I've been waiting since April to get it sorted, it seems to take such a long time and seems there's little you can do to move things along.
I've passed my PCE exams but don't have a job as thought it would be best to get visa first and then go over once job sorted.
Any advice would be much appreciated!
Thanks,
CU

Hi CU. There is an ongoing thread for physios here http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/noc-3142-physiotherapists-t55359.0.html I think you'll get better responses from colleagues there.

Are you currently resident in Canada? Seeing as you are a pre June 06 applicant, have you submitted all your documents for PR to the visa office? If you have, there is nothing you can do than to wait for response from your VO.

BTW, have you passed both stages (written and clinical) of the exams? I am on the final stage of the credentialing. I am envisaging some remedial course work in Pharmacology based on assessment of some of my class mate that have completed the credentialing previously.

Thanks 9jcanada,
Yes, I've passed both the written and the clinical, completed the last one in June last year. I'm currently still in the UK as was waiting for visa to come through before I go out there for good-I know I probably could have got a temporary work permit but thought I'd go straight for residency!
Are you doing a similar thing in Pharmacology?
Thanks,
